One wild fantastic finale!

Meg Anne created these characters in Lina, Nord, Quinn, Finley, and others that I fell in love with, and have raptly stayed with, from the beginning. The worlds, the suspense, the snark, hawt hawt hawt dialog and spicy scenes were just icing on this scrumptious cake. BUT, then she brought in the delicious duo of Stella Hunter and Shane East and it just blew me away. They took this fantastic series and just breathed a new life into it I didn't know it needed, until they read book 1... and I have read, then listened to, EVERY ONE IN THE SERIES. Once you hear them read in DUET, you HAVE to hear THEM ALL! I absolutely can NOT wait until we get Quinley's story, and then hear them narrarate it as well... and maybe Crombie, too? (hint, hint)

As a finale to Nord and Lina's story, it couldn't have been more perfect.  It was a heart-wrenching, nail biting, thigh-clenching, absolute roller coaster of emotions & action & danger & spice & banter (Quinley, IYKYK) & that found family loyalty we love! I felt everything in this one, the entire gambit of emotions, and will not give more than that or I'll TELL ALL!! Thank you Meg Anne for this amazing series!

My thanks to Meg Anne & Booksprout for providing me with an ALC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No review is expected, and no compensation was received.

Spectacular!!

Just spectacular!!

The final installment in the Undercover Magic series is amazing!! It picked up right where the last book ended. This series has been spellbinding and addicting.
This book did not disappoint!!
Lots of action. I was literally on the edge of my seat for most of the book.
So many good moments throughout the book. I love Lina, Nord, Finley and Quinn. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for Finley and Quinn.
Overall, this is a series gets better and better, and the characters continue to mature. The twists were so good, and the cliffhangers left you begging for more. The villains are pure evil that you cannot imagine doing the things they’ve done. It leaves you wanting vengeance for Lina.
The narrators, Shane West and Stella Hunter are just wonderful!! They truly elevated the audiobook. The emotions just come through very clearly and their voices are great.

Vikings for the win

You know you’ve come across a great series when you laughed out loud, cheered, and cried alongside the characters. Every book in this series was better than the last. I love Nord and Lina. I even came to have a soft spot for Crombey. But I utterly adore Finley and Quinn. Can’t wait for their book. Definitely worth the read and highly recommended!

I absolutely adore Shane East and Stella Hunter’s portrayals of the characters. Stella captures Quinn’s snark with ease and the emotions of all the females to a tee. I could listen to East read a grocery list! Hot damn that man’s voice is like butta. Shane East and Stella Hunter bring this series to life! Complete dynamic duo!

Fan-Freaking-Tastic!

Call of Danger is book 5 in the Undercover Magic series and finishes the story arc for Lina and Ford - but not the series. I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait for this book because Promise of Danger ended in yet another Meg Anne epic cliffie (worth it, but still….)! Buckle up because you will need it as you are pulled in all the directions for all the reasons. There is a lot going on in this book as so many of the storylines come together. Questions will be answered, new questions arise, and Lina and Nord find their power together. I just love their relationship and their love story - how they absolutely KNOW they belong together and it just keeps getting stronger and better no matter what life throws at them. My emotions ran the gamut again in this book - everything from angst, anger, excitement, joy, and deliciously toe-curling desire. Lina and Nord share some truly beautiful experiences that brought me to happy tears. They face off with Mikel, a truly evil and powerful character who should NOT be underestimated. Wow - some stunning plot twists and turns in this one! Again - remember to buckle up… You have been warned.

My opinion of the truly excellent audiobook awesomeness stands in this book, as it did for others in the series. This is recorded with Stella Hunter and Shane East in DUET with excellent performances and editing/engineering to give us the best possible audiobook experience! Emotional performances and flawless character transitions deliver a 5-star audiobook~!!

So many wonderful characters with a rich and complex history in this series! We learn more about Crombie, but it will not be easy. He remains a very complex and intriguing character. Just when I think I have to let go and decide he can’t be saved we get more. Love it! Quinn and Finley - Yikes!!! Their banter is brilliant and wonderful, but Meg Anne takes their potential to new places in this one. Have a towel handy…. I am seriously counting down for Bound by Danger, book 6, coming in early 2022 with their story.

I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Call of danger is amazing.

Call of Danger is that perfect conclusion to Lina and Nord’s story! Lina and Nords friendships and extended family were such a delight along the way too.Their presence enhanced the story all through out the story and more.I’ve loved Finley and Quinn as a separate character from the book one.But when their attraction to each other become more undeniable, the tension between them was palpable. The sneak peek at the end of this story is beyond hot and I can’t wait for their story in Bound by Danger.Crombie their frenemy is also delicious fun and I would absolutely love to see more of him.

Stella Hunter and Shane East narrated this entire series so beautifully. It would have been easy for gruff Nord to be a one-dimensional gruff and surly character, but Shane East was so eloquent and emotional in the moments that needed it, and strong, dominant and determined at other times. Similarly, Lina's spirit, grit and determination shone through Stella Hunter's performance and really elevated the character's relatability. The dialog and writing is really strong and poignant on it's own, and further elevated by two amazing voice actors that bring it to life in a different way.

What a wonderful farewell!!

In a well written series, the characters come to mean so much to you that you hold your breath hoping their story has the ending that they deserve. Call of Danger is that perfect conclusion to Lina and Nord’s story! Both characters lit up the page and grabbed my attention from their first appearance and they have never let go. This book, as with the others before it, is filled with non-stop action, intense suspense, next level steam, laugh out loud banter and sweet tender moments that brought tears to my eyes. You hope to get just a couple of these elements in every book you read, but to have them all in this wonderful story is a gift – and something I’ve come to happily expect from Meg Anne. I love her writing, her world building, her storytelling and her multi-dimensional characters. From the start, I loved how Lina and Nord grew as characters and how their immediate attraction turned into a deep, unfailing love. This book is a testament to that love and a wonderful farewell.

Lina and Nord’s friendships and extended family were such a delight along the way too. Their presence enhanced the story all the more. I’ve loved Finley and Quinn as separate characters from book one but when their attraction to each other became undeniable, the tension between them was palpable (and snarky and fun). The sneak peek at the end of this book is already beyond hot and I can’t wait for their story in Bound by Danger. Crombie, their frenemy, is also deliciously fun and I would love to see him have a book of his own as well. Another testament to good writing is when the side characters are so interesting and colorful that you want them to have a book of their own.

Another thing that I love about this series is the narrators that helped tell this story. Stella Hunter and Shane East are incredible actors whose voices create the perfect tone for each character that they voice in this duet narration. From lust, anger and hatred to love, humor and tenderness, they both convey it all so convincingly and with just the right inflection. They help set the mood and make each scene memorable.

This is a wonderful series with amazing characters and Call of Danger is the perfect magical ending to all of it! (Although I’m crossing fingers that Lina and Nord might make an appearance in Quinley’s story.)

❤❤❤❤❤

This book was everything and more, actually this whole entire series was. All of the emotions I felt during this entire series was everything I need. Just how the characters are written and make you fall in love with them from the first time you are introduced to them.

I highly recommend this series to everyone so that they feel what I mean. Just warning you that you might get chocked up at the end of this book, because I know I did. I'm really just sad, because I really just didn't want it to end.

Thank you Meg Anne for bringing this entire series to life and making me fall in love with every bit of it. Also thank you for having Shane East and Stella Hunter narrat this series. They were everything and more I needed. They brought this series to life!

Amazing Ending

Have you ever read a series that sucks you in and grabs hold of your heart and never lets go?? A series that makes your emotions run the FULL gambit?? I laughed so hard I cried and a cried so hard you would think someone I knew was hurting, not a fictional character. This was that series for me. I really didn't want it to end. Now saying that, the ending was amazing. I feel like there was complete closure to the story. Once again Nord and Lina are literally the perfect compliment to each other. They have that love for each other that anyone would want. Nord is a viking beserker do I need to say more? He loves Lina so completely you can feel it jumping off the page. Lina is a bada** in her own right. Watching her finally come into her full potential is utterly amazing. Of course I can not forget Quin & Finley, who need to finally get their act together and get together!! (I hear their book is coming though yay!!) I still don't know how I feel about Crombie, I feel like he is out for himself and no one else and he only is a "nice guy" when he is obligated to be, like if he didn't have to help he would choose not to. (I must say that this is the art of a good storyteller) In regards to the evil basta** in this book Mikel is the perfect bad guy. He is cunning and cruel and you love to hate him. All in all this series is one of my all time favorites. Oh and I still claim Nord as my book boyfriend. Now on to the narrators, I can not imagine Lina or Nord sounding like anyone other than Stella Hunter and Shane East!! These two do such a fabulous job of bringing this story and these characters to life. They mesh so well that it was so easy to listen to and to just get lost in the story.
