What a word!!!

This book made me laugh, cry, horny and cringe!!! So much of this story is relatable. I have been through a lot of these situations... I was so waiting for a different ending.... I’m was pleasantly impressed at the ending that was written!! Great story!!

Very Good Book

This is a great book..very realistic ...The characters were true to life ...Beyond the language...It resolves well...Alonzo Riggs did a great narration

Good

So I need to get my eyes checked and start reading the blurb at the back of the books going forward. I thought this was a short haired woman and a man on the cover. LOL. I did not know what I was getting myself into when I started the read. I also try to distance myself from coming of age books given that I'm no spring chicken. It was however, a good read. The evolution of Keith and his supporting cast was interesting and disturbing at the same time given the harsh environment they grew up in. In the end, I enjoyed the book.

Decent

There was some serious internalized racism in the authors tone, but it was still nice to read a gay black love story. there were moment when some choices felt forced on to the character by the author instead of letting the character reach that decision naturally, but I did really end up liking the overall story

As a SGL Black Man. I have to say, This by far is the Absolute, Best Audio, Or Paperback I have Come across, Showing Gay Black on Black Love. I look forward to seeing & Hearing more from this Author. Naheim Judane

I am absolutely floored..
Honestly, I don't kno what I was expecting.. but, it wasn't really this. I dunno how to even explain it, but it's something pretty different. a little twisty. a little trigger warning needed..
but all in all, I LOVE it.
and, who the frick is this narrator. I am in fricken love. where the f did he come from? I need more of this guy, PLEASE. preferably in MM (or whatever poly w MM scenes) because this is my genre/jam/bread and butter. 😇👍🏼

How much I can relate

Story of my life you have to listen to the story must read nothing else I can say

I binged this one.

I have recently got into audible and the first book I listen to I kinda just slept to it. However this book took me through all the emotions. I found myself staying awake all night to make sure that I didn’t miss anything. This story took me through so many dang emotions at times I felt myself getting irritated with one character in particular l. Overall a 10/10

A definite listen!

Going into the book I wasn’t quite sure about it but by chapter 3 I was hooked. The scenarios are all so real and perfectly executed. It’s full of twists and turns that make you feel hot, sad, mad, and excited.
The narration was spot on and helped make the characters come to life. I feel like I know exactly how the characters look.
It is full of derogatory words but it helps make the setting come to life.
Highly recommended!!
