Great book!

I enjoyed this book because it had all 3 of the lawyers from Paul Levine’s books. The story was what you might expect with these 3 together. I wasn’t fond of the narrator this time though. I preferred the books that used Luke Daniel’s for a narrator.

Narrator needs acting classes

The plot & story line are decent - if you are willing to stick with it..
POV gets confusing at times & the 3 sentence chapters were a little hard to get used to.
Yes, this story falls into the hard-boiled detective genre but the narrator gives an over the top presentation that had me considering to quit listening after 15 minutes. A little subtlety & change of voice pitch when changing characters would help immensely.

Really poor narration

I loved the story, and the narrators saving grace is that his voice is very pleasant. But omg, he should not have gotten this job.

Lassiter & Lord defend Solomon

BUM RAP is a good legal thriller with weak narration. In this novel Jake Lassiter with the help of Victoria Lord defends Steve Solomom (who is Victoria Lord's law partner and fiance) on a murder charge. Bum Rap is a fun little novel.

What happened to Luke Danials

Story was good, love the pairing of the 3 main characters, but the narrator is awful

Love Lassiter, hate the reader

Michael Levine is the worst reader I’ve ever listened to on Audible. He must be related to the author Paul Levine. There’s no other excuse for hiring him. Luckily, I liked the Lassiter series enough to listen to the end.

Narration ruined the Audible version for me

I both read and listened to this book, which is something I love about Whispersync. I love Paul Levine novels, but this narration made the book really unenjoyable and I eventually gave up the narration and just read it. The narrator has almost no vocal variety and that disappoints me, since I love this author.

Couldn’t finish because of narration. So wooden, annoying, miss Luke Daniels.

Narration was abysmal, and I just could not connect with the story because I was so disappointed. Listening became a chore, so I gave up.
