About this listen

Tatiana Jones is no stranger to the battlefield. One look at her scarred flesh tells the tales of her time in captivity. But it’s not only her skin that bears the marks of her failures; doubt and a healthy dose of cynicism now cloud her vision. She has also mastered the fine art of deception. In her line of work it is a necessity.

Former Navy SEAL Brooks Miller is living the good life working as a mercenary. Employed by the highly sought-after Z Corps, a private special-ops company, there are no shortage of contracts sending him around the world. He lives wild and free with nothing tying him down - just the way he likes it.

When the Gold Team’s latest mission takes them to Bahrain, Brooks thinks it will be a quick in and out. That’s until he walks into a shitstorm and comes face-to-face with the woman who’s about to turn his world upside down. There was something working behind her intelligent eyes, and it looked a lot like pain. Not the physical kind, the emotional aftermath of heartache. And when she tries to hide behind snark and sass, he decides on the spot he wants to know more.

Tatiana doesn’t have time for games. She’s on the hunt for the man who left her life in ruins. Brooks has something else in mind, something more, something far more permanent than the no-strings fun Tatiana is offering. He had her right where he wanted her until the hunters became the prey and their world exploded. It will take more than the Gold Team to bring down a Saudi Prince out for blood. Their only hope is the one and only king of all things cyber, John “Tex” Keegan. Can Tex get search and rescue team to them in time, or will it be a recovery mission?

Brooks: book one in the all new Gold Team series features Susan Stoker’s new Legacy SEALs.

Brooks and Tatiana are a power operator couple

In true Riley fashion, this story grabs you from the beginning. You get a tough, independent strong female who is an operator; and a strong, alpha protector man who respects her abilities and strength. As Brooks and Tatiana fall for each while Brooks helps rebuild her confidence, the Gold team faces danger as plots are unraveled and action keeps you on your toes. Zane as always provides his brand of humor at times, and Tex lends his specialbrand of help. If you love suspense, action, danger, humor, and a terrific HEA, this story is for you. And the narration brings it to life.

This is a great book!

I am not sure why the low ratings. Yes. Brooks is a new narrator, but he's not bad. This book had the male and woman steam, sexy moments, we all love from this author. I anticipate the release of this authors books. I'll be listening to the next book.

Performance is good, enjoyed written book more.

As sometimes happens, a book that I love in written form just isn't enjoyable for me in audible form. I loved the book in written form. I did not enjoy this Audible book. The performance is good. I found it SO annoying that the H called the h "doll" all the time. That is SO 1950s.

Fabulous beginning

I love everything about this book. I enjoyed the initial meet up and watching the change in the characters as they grew together. I love every single side character as well. I’m excited ti get to know the rest of the team.

The narration is next level good!! Lee Samuels is ahmazing!!! His voice is super sexy when he is growls, and the influx in character change really shows his ability to perform. Maxine Mitchell is an audiobook goddess. Her performance is always spot on and you know which character is talking by the different tone in her voice. I enjoy everything she does.

This is the first book in The Gold Team series, and I am Excited to continue on to the next!!! Military Gold romance right here!!!

Gripping story

Tatiana is a strong heroine which is too rare if you ask me. I found myself totally immersed in the story. It’s heartwarming, full of action, and lots of steam. The perfect trifecta for a good novel!

Not Good

Weak story with way too much time spent on romance . Not even close to what I was expecting in a special forces novel.
