About this listen

Once a fabled Blade of Namara, Aral Kingslayer fought for justice and his goddess alongside his familiar, a living shadow called Triss. Now with their goddess murdered and her temple destroyed, they are among the last of their kind. Surviving on the fringes of society, Aral becomes a drunken, broken, and wanted man, working whatever shadowy deal comes his way. Until a mysterious woman hires him to deliver a secret message - one that can either redeem him or doom him.

Get The Next One Too

I've read this full series (6 books) through twice now, and picked the audiobook up for easy background noise.

My only complaint about the book, is that it barely scrapes the top of the vast world Mr. McCullough has developed, and leaves so many things hinted at, that I always find myself yearning for more. Luckily, Mr. McCullough has written five more books in the series, and none of them disappoint.

I have nothing but praises for Mr. McCullough's engrossing story telling, his great use of the English language, and a vast appreciation of the realms of mythology and history from which he draws inspiration.

Happy reading!

pop corn fun

This book reads/listens a lot like Brent Weeks The Way Of Shadows series of the same theme. I get the feeling this author was referencing The Way Of Shadows as he wrote. It is pretty good, but not original.
I will be following the series.

We need the rest of this series

This is a great story with excellent narration. It has a great fast pace and you really feel the characters start to come to life, sadly though the rest of this series isn't available yet on audible. But this story does have a good enough ending to listen to as a stand alone book.

An excellent listen

Well paced and measured story with good voice acting and no crazy, outlandish out of place melodrama as found in some books.

When I was done it was good enough for me to leave a review. I would recommend
