Publisher's summary

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn is back with a hilarious new rom-com series.

Sometimes the wedding of the century calls for desperate measures.

And sometimes those desperate measures are to pretend the person you hate most is actually your boyfriend.

After years of working her tail off at her event-planning business, Maggie Mitchell is ready for a vacation. With nothing on her mind but R & R, she’s enjoying the warm weather of Bora Bora when in saunters Brody McFadden, her brother’s best friend and also her sworn enemy. Thanks to years of tension between the two—kicked off by a make-out session at her brother’s wedding that ended horribly—Maggie has sworn to stay away from the man. That is, until she finds out he’s in Bora Bora for his boss’s daughter’s wedding, hoping to use the trip to win a real future at the company.

Maggie promised herself she wouldn’t even think of work on the island, but as word spreads about the “wedding of the century” taking place in the midst of her vacation, she realizes offering her services as a bridesmaid and planner could bring her business to the next level. The only catch? She needs to pose as Brody’s girlfriend to get the job…while letting him stay in her peaceful bungalow.

Tensions rise, irritation flairs, and despite years’ worth of bickering behind closed doors, Maggie can’t quite squash the sparks building between her and her new fake boyfriend, especially when she learns the real reason their first kiss was cut short. But as the wedding day draws closer and everything starts to go wrong, it just might be Brody who sends Maggie’s business crashing down—and her heart along with it.

5 STARS! Hilarious hot & heartfelt enemies to lovers romcom!

Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn was an amusing and entertaining romantic comedy that showcased the author’s exceptional storytelling skills. In this enemies-to-lovers, fake-dating rom-com, Quinn weaves a tale of unexpected love and undeniable chemistry. I listened to the audiobook, performed in duet by two of my favorite narrators, Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke, was excellent. They both delivered wonderful performances, capturing the essence of their characters and bringing them to life for the listener.

The witty banter and sizzling sexual tension between Maggie, the confident, outgoing wedding planner, and Brody, the broody and gruff hero, may have drew me in, but their hilarious mishaps and heartfelt moments kept me glued to my Air Pods as I practically inhaled this story. Quinn expertly delves into the emotional complexities of fake dating your most despised enemy as she explored the trials and tribulations of a relationship built on deception. I swooned, swore and stressed the whole situation right along with Maggie and Brody as their relationship morphed from adversarial to amorous. A quintessential Meghan Quinn romantic comedy, Bridesmaid for Hire is a not-to-be-missed, must-read for lovers of the enemies-to-lovers and fake dating tropes. Five smooches from me for Meghan Quinn’s Bridesmaid for Hire!

Best Rom-Com

This is the best rom com I’ve listened to in a very long time. One of the top ever. The narration was exceptional. Two of my favorite narrators.

A true Rom-Com!

I've listened to a lot of Meghan Quinn books, but this one has to be the funniest. I snickered, giggled, and laughed out loud through the whole thing. Really good!

LOVE!

First of all, this gets 5 stars because it’s MQ. I mean, come ON! MQ! This book was HILARIOUS and I cackled out loud more times than I can count! I also listened to the audio while reading and it was such a great experience! Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon did a phenomenal job with their portrayal of Maggie and Brody. They have such a great chemistry with their duet narrations. I loved that MQ’s universe was interwoven in the pages of this story… We caught cameos of the Cane Brothers, Hayes Farrow and the folks from Almond Bay… So good! The banter in this book is a close second only to the Vancouver Agitators boys. It’s good, y’all! I will say that I was kind of bummed with the ending. NOT GIVING SPOILERS!! But it was sort of anticlimactic for me. Not enough for me to rate it less than 5 stars, but just seemed a bit rushed at the end. Would I read it again? YES! Would I listen again? YES! It’s a must read/listen!

Gut busting laughs

At first I thought I was going to dislike Brody because he seemed a bit rigid at first. His inflexibility led to several very hilarious moments especially during the games. As I got to know him more I couldn't help but love him. Maggie brought out a side to him that was loveable and extremely beautiful. Gary may be one of my favorite side characters especially with the way he loved his best friend almost too much 😆 I think Queen Meghan may have outdone herself with this one. Aside from Daddy Hopper and Satin's toenail everyone was extremely cute and loveable.

Hilarious, sweet and always meant to be together!!

Brody was just your average young professional bachelor. Smart, good looking and never looking to settle down. But once he opens up to Maggie the woman of his dreams, all bets are off…. that man is all about Maggie and he’s everything a girl ever wanted. The only way I can think of to describe Maggie is charming with a side of sass. That woman can handle any situation with poise and grace. Together I nearly fell off my chair laughing and yet yearned for their connection. The narrators Jason and Erin were exceptional. They depicted their characters so well I felt like I could see the movie reel in my head as they story evolved. It was amazing!!

So many laugh out loud moments!

OMG did I laugh so much while listening to Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke narrate this book as Maggie Mitchell and Brody McFadden! From the moment they set eyes on each other Maggie and Brody had nothing but contempt for the other. But secretly they both harbored feelings. Maggie was in the no go category as the sister of his best friend. So when Maggie tells the Hoppers they’re dating it makes things that much more difficult. If there was something to go wrong, poor Brody was the receiver. OUCH! Then there’s Maggie who somehow gets roped into being a stand in bridesmaid. It wasn’t all a comedy of errors. There were many heartwarming moments that struck me to my core. Erin and Jason were, as always, stellar voices for these characters.

I received an advance copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Loved this fake relationship romance!

I had so much fun listening to this hilarious, heartfelt, and steamy fake relationship romance. Brody and Maggie have been attracted to each other for years. But because Brody was warned away by his best friend, Maggie's older brother, they find it easier to be enemies than close friends. Maggie has worked hard to build her wedding planning business, so has earned a vacation in a tropical location. That location ends up being the site of the 'wedding of the century' and she wants in on it. Brody works for Hopper industries and is working on a proposal that could save his job. He not only finds himself at his bosses daughter's wedding, but he unexpectantly finds the woman of his dreams. He and Maggie pretend to be a couple as they make friends, embarrass themselves and maybe discover they can't be without each other. But when things turn sideways, they just might lose everything, included the one person they have always loved. I loved Brody and Maggie's story! It had the perfect balance of hilarious and awkward situations, heartfelt emotion, lovable characters, and lots of sizzling tension and passion. I loved how Brody and Maggie clashed but still supported each other, and their chemistry was off the charts! The different wedding activities were so clever, awkward, and funny, and the interactions between Brody and Maggie's brother were especially hilarious, I loved it all!
Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon did a great job bringing this story to life. I love both their voices, along with their flawless comedic timing, and dynamic voice changes, as they delivered the clever, fast paced, snarky banter. The way they brought out the push/pull between both Brody and Maggie was perfection. I really enjoyed both their performances and thought they made this hilarious, heartfelt, and sweet & steamy romance even better!
