About this listen

Justice Lonesome has enjoyed a life of bounty. Even so, she's inherited the curse of the Lonesome. A poet's soul. Which means she's still searching for something. Searching for peace. Searching for the less...that's more. And when the foundation of her life is pulled out from under her, grieving, she goes to the mountains to find her oasis. She hits Carnal, Colorado, and decides to stay.

Deke Hightower lost everything at the age of two. He lost it again at 15. His life has not been about bounty. It's been about learning to live with less, because there's no way to get more. Deke's also watched all his friends go down to the women who gave them what they needed. He wants that for himself. But he knows that search isn't going to be easy, because he's a rider. His home is the road. That's the only place he can breathe. And the woman who takes her place at his side has to do it sitting on the back of his bike.

When Deke meets Justice, he knows she's not that woman. She's cute. She's sweet. And she's into him, but she's got it all, and Deke knows he won't fit in to that. So he holds her at arm's length. Establishes boundaries. And Justice will take it, because she wants Deke any way he'll let her have him. But when Justice finds herself a pawn in a dangerous game, Deke makes a decision. When he does, he has no idea he's just opened himself up to bounty.

Like listening to a pleasant babbling brook

I find all of Kristen Ashley's books pleasantly mellow and relaxing, just like sitting next to a babbling brook. Absolutely the perfect thing to play in the background as I am busy doing other mindless chores. Having said that, her books are not all that dynamic. Sometimes I miss large segments due to distraction but find when I tune back in I have missed absolutely nothing at all. I would never sit down and actually read one of her books because not enough actually ever happens. The first time I listened to a Kristen Ashley book I thought it was a big fat waste of my time. Where was the plot? That was a weak story line! But I listen to a lot of books to distract me from a serious case of tinnitus (phantom ear buzzing/noises 24/7 in one ear). I've come to appreciate Kristen Ashley does a credible job of creating an idyllic world we could imagine ourselves living in. As time has gone along I've come to appreciate that Kristen Ashley is like easy listening rock music. Do you admit to your co-workers it's on your playlist, do you go to the concert? Maybe not. But you may tap your foot to it on occasion and when you're in the mood. So if you want to sit next to a babbling brook for a while, Kristen Ashley may be an author you'd enjoy. If you're looking for something with lots of drama, emotion and tension, you probably should keep shopping.

Perfect.

I enjoyed reading this book, but I LOVED listening to it. KA as always delivers an awesome story! The narrator is a perfect match! She doesn't try too hard as most others do...over emphasizing and exaggerating to the point of my eyes rolling. An enjoyable tale of a gypsy and her nomad mountain man both with hearts of gold! root myself in you...all I need...chain links, white tee

My Favorite So Far!

Bounty is my favorite mountain man book to date. Emma does a fantastic job narrating all the different characters. I laughed, I cried, and I might just listen to it again...now.

This is pure heaven!

Any additional comments?

You get Ty, Tate, Joe and Deke all in one book?! Thank you for that Ms. Ashley. Not only did you get a sort of Greatest Hits of K.A.'s Men in this book but you also get Justice Lonesome. As women readers we can be pretty hard on our heroines in romance books. We often easily fall in love with the men but find the women lacking in some way. So many times I read reviews and find that many feel the heroine in the book to be annoying, whiny, have no backbone, or conversely, be too outspoken. And I admit that I can be just as hard on these women. But Justice . . . Justice is just right. She is the salt of the earth type; what you see is what you get with her. She loves her man just the way he is and I love that about her. Most of the book is as easy going as their relationship. They are just two people who are made for each other who don't need to create extra drama because life gives you enough. And life's drama makes a really big appearance in the end and it creates such poignant moments that don't seem forced or contrived but instead make them seem the unbreakable paragon of couples. Do yourself a favor and listen to the songs that are sung in the end. It will make those moments that much more powerful and meaningful for you. Loved this book, loved this couple.

Really great!!! As expected...

If ur a fan of KA then this will fill your expectations! Everything we know and love of KA's writing is present in this Colorado Mt book. She's had some great great books and some that I liked well enough to read again but this one was one of the greats! Although not as full of suspense as some in the series , Bounty is beautiful, well written, involved. We see characters we know and love and that feeling of deep friendship and solid relationships that KA is SO good at giving! The last 5 or so sentences of the epilogue made me hold my breath and then just ..... Breathe. Made me want to start the whole series over again. And I think I just might. And then I'll revisit the rock chic series. I do every year. It seems. Lol. But the first in the series- the story of Maxwell Holden, is not my fave. If you've only read that one please move on to Sweet Dreams!!! Tate and Lauries story. That one is SO Much GREATER! And this one, although not as suspenseful, is right up there with this one. As always with a KA book. I was sorry to see it end. Thank god I can go back to Carnal,Co anytime I want!! Use the credit!!! You'll be glad you did. I was anyway.

Mountain Man and Gypsy Princess perfection

I am a huge fan of Kristen Ashley, having read almost all of her books. When this book came out a year ago I put off reading it because I wanted to re-read the other books to get the full impact. The problem was I didn’t love the last two Mountain books. I so glad I pushed through and re-read them. This was such a beautiful story and added perfectly to our Carnal favorites! I’m also hoping this story is a good transition into the rock chicks spin off! 🤞🏻. This is an beautiful story and can be enjoyed as a stand alone, but more enjoyable if you read the rest of the series first, especially Sweet Dreams where we meet most of the key characters.

I loved it

I am so addicted to the Colorado Mountain Man series. Bounty is a beautiful addition. I'm so happy to have experienced Deke and Justice's journey along with them. The story is so beautifully written that one would feel as though they were in it.
