About this listen

Almost five years ago, America—as everyone knew it—came to an abrupt end in a spectacular coup d'état. It was called the Liberation by those progressives and radicals that screamed for its outcome; the Fall by its victims whose freedoms were trampled. The White House and the Capitol were overrun by anarchists, and the leaders of the once-proud nation were either imprisoned or sent to social quarantine camps.

The president was arrested and eventually died in prison, or so everyone was led to believe. America was rebooted in a new progressive/socialist image, Newmerica. The United States of old was gone, its history erased and rewritten, its icons destroyed. By the time people tried to organize resistance, it was too late. The citizens lost their history, their flag, their traditions, their freedoms, and their leaders. Newmerica is a state of reparations, citizens turning on citizens, where even the churches are targets of social justice.

Five years later, an unlikely group of patriots emerges from the shadows seeking a restoration of their nation. Two secret service agents struggle with their secrets from the night of the Fall. One son of a patriotic college professor struggles with his father’s legacy and the important artifacts that his father managed to preserve. A young man finds himself face-to-face with the lies the Newmerica government has told him and forced to become a fugitive. A covert operative of the new government seeks out the truth about the "traitor-President’s" fate while coming to terms with her own dark past. Twists of fate or destiny bring these people together with the mission of trying to save what is left of the once-United States.

Time is running out as the forces of the government hunt down this group of renegades, hoping to smother, once and for all, any trace of what was America.

Different Narrator needed

I must say the story was fantastic, and very scary, scary in the sense that how easily we can fall in this evil dystopian world, if American citizens do not wake up and smell the coffee. While we still can, vote for freedom not reparations, free college tuition, free health care, etc., remember my fellow Americans, and I am not a natural born American citizen, I was born in Italy, albeit I was 6 years old when I came to America, nothing is free, there is always a price to pay. I hope more Americans listen to or read this book, if nothing else it may open up your eyes to a possible hell on earth. Having said all that, I wish they chose someone else to narrate this book, every character, male, female, young or old sounded like a 90 year old man with a smoking problem, most times you could not tell which character was a man or a woman. With these exceptions this audible book could have easily garnered 5 stars, I don't know, maybe they should get a woman to narrate this particular story.

Thrilling Novel; Sub-Par performance.

Exciting, entertaining, imaginable. Held back by the narration. Frequent changes in volume, cadence, and tone. As well as mispronunciations. Altogether, still a thorough recommendation.

Fantastic story

Awesome start to the series with really good characters and story arcs! Recording sounds like it has a slight echo, but it is a good performance.

They say this is fiction, in another timeline.

Interesting fiction on how the leftist communists would overthrow the USA, and patriots who kept fighting the illegitimate government.

We know it's fiction because big tech would never ever help to rig an election, antifa protests are always peaceful, and the Government would never vote on bills to disarm the public....

Frightening and plausible

Couldn't stop listening. It scares you to think this could happen. We need to awaken to the danger he's presented here.
