There were always whispers about my roommate at Hillcrest Academy.

WHAT A WILD UNSTOPPABLE RIDE

Well Tijan, what a wonderful surprise this riveting meaty adult Mafia story was.. as chapter after chapter I never knew where you’d take the story, what you’d sucker punch me with next or how it could all get resolved. The good girl with a dark background and the dangerous Boss with an equally dark past.. and a darker future. The intense chemistry was there from their very first brief teen meeting.. but it would be fourteen years before they’d be forced to meet again - and when they did.. it’s a clash of wills. It’s also non-stop drama, suspense, tension, family angst, bloodshed, secrets, shocking revelations, heartache and a strained relationship between a cold-blooded genius and his kidnapped angel of mercy.

A good Mafia story is my kryptonite.. and this well-written story wasn’t just good - it was great. Told entirely from the heroine’s PoV it also has sex, passion, shocks, character development, chills and thrills. The brilliant narration by Natalie Eaton brought the binge-worthy plot to life.

Worth a credit? It’s in the Romance Package folks so it’s pretty much free.. but I would’ve happily used a credit on it.

Enjoyed the story

I wasn't going to read or listen to this book because of the mafia theme however I did because of the author. Yes, I really enjoy Tijan's stories. I started listening on Audible but really had a hard time enjoying the story - mainly due to the narrator's lack of - something. In my book, she ruined it. I ended up reading the story and enjoyed it. Again, in my humble opinion, I think authors sometimes pump up the amount of sexy scenes to increase the word count. Those scenes aren't always needed. There was a lot of violence in this book. I guess with a mafia theme that's to be expected. The overall story was really good. I enjoyed it.

Yikes, the narrator!

It was hard to take the story seriously because the narrator was sooo angsty... dramatic... breathless... The plot of the story was good, but there could have been a lot less self-loathing from the main character. I mean, geez. She hated/doubted herself about everything. Over, and over, And over again. Throughout the entire story. If you can get beyond that, it's a good book.

The story gets so good!

Not what I was expecting and sooo glad I stuck with it because the story and the relationship just kept getting better! Took forever but worth it! This seems to be the standard with Tijan's books (for me). When it hits the fan it hits hard. Kai's a BOSS! ❤ This is a slooooow burn and the h irritated me for a good portion, for the same reasons why I always get frustrated with hypocritical characters.

I loves the story but the narrator was just too intense too much of the time. It made it hard to listen.

I could not put this book down. its been awhile since I didn't want to skip a chapter or two.
I absolutely loved this book.

Good Start

This is a good start with a good cast of characters. I wish it moved a bit quicker but it was a good world building start and the narration was done well. Overall it was a good listen.

I liked it

I always say, I want more substance in a book..more back story. Well this book definitely has it, maybe to much of it. Even when I thought the book could come to a end, I had 3 hours left🙄. Also the narrator of the book is an acquired taste, she didn’t calm her nerves until you were six hours into the book but don’t fret she picked up her high pitched screeching again the last hour of the book.👀

Loved The Story

Not a typical mafia story. More of a family story and a great love story.

Great story, AWFUL NARRATOR

Omg. The narrator screamed the entire time... 13 hours of full on screaming. Made me nauseous. But great story by Tijan!
