About this listen

From two of the world’s leading experts in endometriosis comes an essential, first-of-its kind book that unwraps the mystery of the disease and gives women the tools they need to reclaim their lives from it.

Approximately one out of every 10 women has endometriosis, an inflammatory disease that causes chronic pain, limits life’s activities, and may lead to infertility. Despite the disease’s prevalence, the average woman may suffer for a decade or more before receiving an accurate diagnosis. Once she does, she’s often given little more than a prescription for pain killers and a referral for the wrong kind of surgery. Beating Endo arms women with what has long been missing - even within the medical community - namely, cutting-edge knowledge of how the disease works and what the endo sufferer can do to take charge of her fight against it.

Leading gynecologist and endometriosis specialist Dr. Iris Kerin Orbuch and world-renowned pelvic pain specialist and physical therapist Dr. Amy Stein have long partnered with each other and with other healthcare practitioners to address the disease’s host of co-existing conditions - which can include pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, gastrointestinal ailments, painful bladder syndrome, central nervous system sensitization - through a whole-mind/whole-body approach. Now, Beating Endo formalizes the multimodal program they developed, offering listeners an anti-inflammatory lifestyle protocol that incorporates physical therapy, nutrition, mindfulness, and environment to systematically addresses each of the disease’s co-conditions on an ongoing basis up to and following excision surgery. This is the program that has achieved successful outcomes for their patients; it is the program that works to restore health, vitality, and quality of life to women with endo.

No more “misdiagnosis roulette” and no more limits on women’s lives: Beating Endo puts the tools of renewed health in the hands of those whose health is at risk.

Mind blowing connections are made

wow, to feel so validated while at the same time having my mind blown by the connections I've never even thought about from Endo. I am so glad I found this book prior to my surgery and cannot recommend even just chapter 1 to all the Endo warriors out there. you are not alone

Great resource!

My husband purchased this book in audio format for me. Even though I underwent complete hysterectomy 10+ years ago, it has raised questions about my continuing health into my elderly years that I hope to have answered. I can think of at least 1 young friend to share it with. Thank you for sharing your expertise & insights.

Great holistic info on Endo

As someone who believes in holistic approach to healing, I’m grateful for this book as it includes movement, nutrition and mindset in addition to the basics of Western medicine for Endo. Easy read with great resources.

Very helpful

As a guy, this book was really informative and helped to be more compassionate to women who struggle with this disease and to understand just how prevalent it is too. I really enjoyed narration also.

Great information, comprehensive, executed wonderfully good delivery.

This book has a plethora of information!
Enjoyed the whole body prospective and approaches to calm the body of irritants caused by the disease and lifestyles.
It doesn’t damn doctors, instead urges more education and research.
After having read Beyond the Pill this was some similar info but absolutely worth the time for more knowledge and stories of others experiencing what I do
Share this with doctors, school nurses, educators for some understanding of how debilitating and entire body this disease is.

A must read!

The Endo journey is hard! For me this book was both encouraging and discouraging! The discouraging part is not the fault of the writers though but, of our healthcare system and the lack of information out there for those with Endometriosis! Read / Listen to this book if you or someone in your family has endometriosis! It is important to know both the good and the bad. I greatly appreciate the Doctors who took the time to write this and who are doing everything they can to help!!!
