Ties in well with the game

It's not needed exposition, but I think it does a lot to explain the social dynamics in the campaign mode for the game. Good characters, throwbacks to some Rogue One names, and interesting to see the Imperial side of things. Not essential reading, but I would suggest it.

Good Impressions

This is my first book with Janna Gavankar as narrator and I am impressed. The consistency of characters the range she could change her voice to give each character their own voice was impressive. It is up to the quality I have come to expect from the Star Wars audio renditions of their novels.

This was a fantastic book. Performance was decent

The book is fantastic. Golden seems to excel at humanizing and making you sympathize for "evil" characters. This book really delves into the Empire and how there are just as many idealists in the Empire as there is in the rebellion. She also makes some very memorable characters
The only problem is the book does drag in some spots in the middle. it's necessary for the plot but don't expect this to have the same pace as Twilight Company
The performance was pretty good it was a little off putting that some of the men that were older sounded like Teenage boys in my opinion, the admiral and Gideon Hask are good examples of this. However The narrator was definitely thrilled to be reading for a Star Wars book and you can really tell with her inflection.
Overall Very good book and a solid voice performance.

Star Wars All Grown Up

Finally, the Star Wars spy story we've been waiting for. This book is wonderfully written in the narration is off the charts! You will not be disappointed! Enjoy the journey!

Great introduction to Inferno Squad.

Finally a trooper story, only complaint Janina couldn't get enough range on different male voices.

Battlefront ll: Fetch Squad

First off I don't see why the team is called inferno squad as they don't do anything involving fire or pyromania. They are not sent on mission to kill anyone, they are just sent to find lost/stolen information and get it back. The team of the empires best is not sent to fight filthy rebels but to go fetch lost stuff that is mostly unimportant or minor.

This book does a great job setting up inferno squad from the characters personality, abilities, unique traits to a glimpses of the cool equipment they'll get but never use (minis one droid). But the payoff feels very uneventful and a big disappointment as the main mission in the book feels like it should have started and ended in just 5 chapters not 20.

Personality if your a big fan of Star Wars like me you'll think this book is okay, it's not terrible by any means as the narrator does a good job, the sound clips are very good at adding to the scenes, the characters (fetch squad members) are all like able, and it ties in the movies episode four and rogue one very well making it feel like things that happen in those movies have lasting effects for the empire that are brought up multiple times.

If your someone interested in the new video game the book is slightly based on (Star Wars battlefront ll) coming out this year that want to get to know the team of fetch squad I would say just skip this book as the team doesn't come out as bad ass or cool due to them just doing fetch quests for the empire and not going out killing rebels.

So incredibly sappy

I felt like I was listening to a Twilight novel. 16 and 20-something year old super agents inexplicably selected and assembled to root out and recover a virtually useless cache of information from a ho-hum cell of rebels. This book could have been covered in a few comic books much better and far more convincingly. I was so disappointed near the end I almost stopped listening. Performance was good and I liked Gavankar's voice acting. I DO really like the connective tissue between Rogue One and A New Hope. That helped paint a good picture of the everyday Imperial perception of events. That's about the only redeeming quality of the story, however.

Boring!

I’m a big fan of the Star Wars books, but it seems that the latest releases have been getting more boring. This one was just a slow spiral of boredom. The performance was fair, but lackluster and the whole thread of the book played out as a slow painful march to a predictable end. I don’t mind a good story about the Empire, but this wasn’t it.
