About this listen

Time travel, witchcraft, and a growly Highlander. The ultimate Hot Scots prequel is coming.

I need to shake up my life, but I never imagined how much of a jolt I'd get. My husband destroyed my life, then died and left me with nothing. What can I do now? Might as well blow the last of my savings on the trip I've dreamed of taking all my life. I fly to Scotland, to the Highlands. But on my third night there, the unimaginable happens.

Magic happens.

And suddenly, I find myself in the past, and in the arms of a gruff and growly medieval Scot. His three strange aunts insist their witchy powers brought me here. And they think I can save their nephew, Kieran MacTaggart, from his banishment in this abandoned castle.

Yeah, they're insane.

Kieran might behave like a beast and look like one too, but something about him inspires me to learn more about him, the clan that banished him, and this eerie castle. When he kisses me, I experience a desire so powerful that it steals my breath away. I know I should run, but Kieran won't let me go. When he discovers his archenemy, Simidh Gunn, has found out about me, Kieran vows to protect his "property"—namely, me—at any cost. Even if he must invoke black magic to do so.

Trapped in a past I don't understand, all I can do is pray for salvation.

Banished in the Highlands is a time travel prequel inspired by the best-selling Hot Scots series. The mystery of Kieran MacTaggart will be revealed in April 2023.

Can't wait? Get a taste of Kieran's story in Spellbound in a Kilt (Hot Scots, Book 10), and Incendiary in a Kilt (Hot Scots, Book 12).

A new fav read in Banished in the Highlands

Banished in the Highlands is one of the best stories in the MacTaggert line. As usual, performance is great. Looking forward to the next installment! Thanks Anna Durand

I love a good time travel romance!

I absolutely loved how Alyssa and Kieran's romance grew over time.  It was a fun story but also had some emotional and scary parts with Simidh Gunn.
Emma Wilder and Shane East are always such an amazing pairing. They did a wonderful job with Anna's characters and really enhanced the story telling.

Kieran & Alyssa! So good!

There is something about the MacTaggarts and time travel that pulled me completely involved into this wonderful prequel to the Hot Scots series. Anna Durand works her magic again and let us go back in time as Alyssa is summoned by Kieran's three meddling aunts. First of all, why her? And second, will Kieran even believe she is the one that can help prove his innocence? A few of our questions are now answered as we travel to Scotland to the Dundubhan castle, getting to hear Efrica's journal and understand exactly what it all meant. Loved this!

Shane East and Emma Wilder are wonderful narrators and a perfect fit for these characters. East pulls of the broody Kieran, and he gives off the growing love and protectiveness he feels for Alyssa. Wilder plays a smart, quick witted and adapting Alyssa as her entire life is upended and pulls out all the feels as she falls in love. These two are fantastic with their Scottish brogue and made for hours of listening enjoyment.
