learned so much

This is a wonderful book I purchased for my grandson who is 8. it gave understandable stories of the Aztec Gods and the mythical stories that brought them to life. National Geographic did an awesome job on this book.

Narrator Needs Pronunciation Help

Nahuatl words are hard to pronounce. The narrator gets most of them right, but the ones he mispronounces are pretty prominant and distracting. For example Tenochtitlan should be pronounced "Teh-nohch'-tit-lahn;" Quetzalcoatl is not a type of winter "coat" ... the "a" should be pronounced like this: "Ketsahl-koh-ah'-tl. The "x" in "Mexica" is pronounced like "sh," so it should be pronounced "Meh'-shi-kah," not like the "x" in our pronunciation of the modern country "Mexico." The substance is quite good, though, as with all captivating books!

I love story telling

Very helpful, included facts I did not know. All in all very very very very very awesome. I bring it to school every day. learned about several Greek Gods and Goddess.

I looked for a basic Aztec mythology book for what seems like forever now because I was holding out for a book with really good illustrations and I found that in this book. The stories are short and to the point without feeling rushed and the stories are in order.

Good for children

This is a good audiobook for my children to start them in Aztec Mythology. After listening to it several times though I've had to buy other books for them to go further in depth.

I was pleasantly surprised

It made listening about the Aztec Myths bearable because they were nice short and to the point stories without a lot of filler. My mind tends to wander when there is too much filler information but this book was perfect.

Great stories, horrible delivery

I liked learning more about the myths of my ancestors. This book has some great stories that I will be able to pass down to my kids to keep our heritage alive. I think it’s important to know about our roots and embrace the rich cultural history we have. I’d definitely recommend it for that reason.

The narrator does an absolutely terrible job at pronouncing even some of the most basic Nahuatl words and names. This is painfully obviously read by someone who has no familiarity with our culture and it devastated the delivery of these great stories. This should have been read by someone who has a deep connection to the stories and at least a basic understanding of the language.

In all, I’d recommend it for a listen. Just assume that each and every Nahuatl word is pronounced incorrectly. Really, it would be better if you read it on your own and learned how to pronounce the words properly.

This book was informative and an easy read great for starters would recommend this to anyone wanting to get a base knowledge on Aztec mythology.

its a fun book

Bought this book as a survey of Aztec Myths of Gods, Goddesses, and Legendary Creatures. It's a very fun book! Lots of great stories! I plan on reading these stories to my children when they are older!

I found this to be an engaging one.

Not my all-time favorite, but found it an engaging one. In fact, I’ve listened to this in one sitting as Aztec’s culture amazed me right from the beginning.
