Simple and Concise

This book presents a representation of different myths and fables from different areas of Central America and Mexico. The stories are relayed simply and concisely.

Relatable

Like all Captivating History books, the writing is nearly conversational between the author and the listener. The analysis is unique and the facts fascinating and worthy of serious reflection in the 21st century. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in the history of the Americas.

Good One

This is a well written easy to comprehend book on the Mayan, Aztecs, and Incas mythologies. It kind of feels like you are listening to cliff notes for an exam but adds a significant amount of detail to the topics. I recommend it.

It was exactly what I wanted and was a great addition to my ancient American history collection. Would recommend for someone interested in Mesoamerican mythology.

If you are looking for an excellent explanation of the history of Mesoamerican Mythology, this is an excellent choice. I listen to it and learned a great amount of information. I highly recommend this book.

Good Starting Point

It is overwhelming in detail thus allowing you to discover other books on the topics. If you are just starting to learn about Maya Mythology, Aztec Mythology, Inca Mythology, and Central American Myths then this book is a good starting point.

Horrible pronouncing of names

the excellent scholarship is spit upon, it seems, by the horrible pronunciation of the characters by the narrator. Like trying to appreciate a lovely aria whilst someone backstage can’t stop coughing. Arghhhhhn

Liked It

Most books show the Mesoamericans as a unified people, this book dispels that notion with a clearer picture of how they were organized. From the beginning, through the rise, and then, the defeat of the last great leader. This book is a piece of great information as well as a great source of entertainment.
