Good story, bad editing

Both the audio and writing needed more editing - lots of dead air and choppy dialogue. That said it was interesting to hear these tales, as they aren't something you hear much in Western culture.

Keep the first narrator.

I had to skip the 2nd section (on Japanese mythos) because the narrator and verbiage was completely immersion-breaking. It felt like an entirely different book. Overusage of the word "deity" and poor anunciation of Japanese words left me unable to continue. The sections on China and India were absolutely engrossing however, and I still recommend this book.

Japanese butchering

The chinese and hindu part wasn't that bad, the content a little bit too short in my perspective.
The Japanese part was a struggle to finish, so much bad pronunciation of the Japanese words. I seriously consider a new recording on that part, because it also has some weird silence when the narrator is reading.

Worst narrators ever!

The first narrator's accent was difficult - very, very back woods. In addition, he pronounced Tao with hard T, not the correct soft D. The second narrator could not pronounce many of the names he read. He actually re-read attempting to self-correct. Definitely not up to Audible standards.

tells half of the story. Not worth it.

I am struggling to finish this one because it tells have of the story. It gives the outline then completely brushes past other parts. gee thanks.
