Cute short about a young southern girl

What did you love best about Ashlynn's Dreams Shorts?

The young girl's similes. She had some very interesting ones and the voice was very defined.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character, the little girl, she had a unique voice.

Have you listened to any of Kristin Condon’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Good vivid imagination of how a divorce affects a young child, very in depth of the child's thoughts during it.

Any additional comments?

The narrator was good, but she was too fast in narrative, especially the first few chapters. She's using a good southern voice with a good drawl, but she talks too fast for it. People in a south talk a lot slower overall, and with the vocabulary in the south, they kind of need to, because a few spots were hard to follow the narrator because she spoke them a little too fast.

Excellent children short stories

This is a book for older children, ones that dont need to see pictures and can use their imagination. It was a delightful listen.

With multiple short stories (each one being a chapter long) that you can listen to all at once or one at a time.

The narrator did a great job on the voices. She gave Ashlynn such a unique voice.

Delightful

What a wonderful way to keep children occupied during long winter months. The narrator brings Jilly to life in such a believable way, I am sure I would have been enthralled as a child. Audible books bring a new dimension to any story, but this is one of the best I have heard.

Just a Little Extra

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this short little book gives a BIG handful of who Jillian is. Loving and Helpful!

Who was your favorite character and why?

This book made me love Jillian even more, but still haven't decided on a favorite, they all have so many layers!

Have you listened to any of Kristin Condon’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Kristin did awesome here as always. I sometimes forget that only one person is doing the reading.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

As always Julie leaves me laughing and crying. This particular book led to more laughs as Jillian goes about her life.

Entertaining

Now this was real good and l recommend it, the narrator's voice was cute and the sayings were too!
Just so you know, the first minute or two sound wishy washy but the voice improves dramatically after that into a real good story telling of a child going through real life situations.

Charming Snippets In A Young Girl's Life

I enjoyed this book which was a series of brief snippets of happenings in a young girl's life. The young girl's name was Jillian. The story was cute and amusing. I liked Jillian and her personality. She was unique and had her own perspective, although her view was influenced by the adults around her. Kristin Condon's narration was good, and I liked the southern drawl that she gave to Jillian as it seemed to fit Jillian's personality. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

More Context Needed

The actual book Ashlynn's dreams seems interesting so I checked this one out. Probably woulda been better I'd I read the full book first, would have made a ton more sense. Can't blame the book for my mistake though!

Light and Fun

What a delightful book! The stories are interesting, filled with Jillian's history told with humor, Having read the series of Devya's Children, which by the way is wonderful, I particular enjoyed learning more about Jillian. These stories perfectly characterize Jillian in her early life. I don't think it will make any difference if you read this before or after the series. It's an entertaining read even as a stand alone.

The narration is perfect! Kristin Condon performed brilliantly. I felt as though I were listening to Jillian herself. This tremendously added to the listening experience.
