About this listen

From USA Today best-selling Author Claudia Burgoa comes a single-dad sports romance where the only thing more heartfelt than the small town is the love story.

I never wanted to go back to Baker’s Creek.

But when it rains, it pours. I lost my job, lost the guy, and lost the house. The perfect trifecta of ruin.

Ten years after I said I can make it on my own, I have no choice but to ask for help. But it’s my mother who needs me now....

So it’s back to where I don’t belong.

There’s no opportunity in my hometown. The only job that I can get is nannying. For a player from the Vancouver Orcas. “Mean” Mills Aldridge is going to be my new boss...and I’m supposed to pretend he isn’t sex on skates.

Between avoiding the town mean girls, helping my parents, and trying not to behave like a puck bunny, my job with that sweet boy is fast becoming just like the rest of my life - one big complication.

My only escape is my late-night chats with Mills.

The confessions we share make me feel like I belong. The stolen kisses make it hard to remember why I ever left.

Until the opportunity I’ve been waiting for arrives, and it’s time for me to say good-bye.

But can I leave that little boy and his father behind?

The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series is a romantic comedy saga that’s swoonful and sexy, with the right mix of ugly-cry moments and sweet seductions. Buy now to enjoy this fun and flirty series today!

Love this series

I love this series and this one gave us the moody yet handsome Mills Aldridge. He has a young son that he has sole custody of and needs a nanny. When Hadley comes back to town and needs a job and help for her family it seems like the perfect fit for both of them. When those sparks fly they find more than they ever thought possible in each other. I love the mystery of this series and want to know why William Aldridge brought his sons to Baker's Creek and made them live together for a year. So many questions and can't wait to listen to the next book to learn more.

Jason Clarke, and Stella Hunter brings these characters to life and oh what pleasure to the ears they are. Loved listening.

So heartwarming!

The Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers series is such a good series. I'm somewhat sad that there is only one brother left.

As We Are is a single dad/nanny romance, coupled with a small-town romance. At it's heart, this entire series is about family. The complicated relationships not only in falling in love, but also the complicated relationships between the brothers.

Mills and Arden (his son) need Hadley. Mills is a former hockey player whose career was cut short by an injury. He has to move back home to Baker's Creek as a requirement of his dad's will, so he and his adorable toddler are now thrown in with the brothers that he's never been close to in the past. Luckily, the brothers are mending fences and trying to uncomplicate their relationships. Hadley left town years ago and never planned on coming back, but with her career in shambles and parents in need, she's back. And luckily for Mills, she falls into his life when he needs her the most.

What I love about Claudio Burgoa's book is that her characters truly get to know each other, to be friends, to learn each other. They don't jump right into the physical, even though they have such strong attraction. They connect on a soul-deep level. They help each other. They trust each other.

Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter narrated this book brilliantly. Fully of heart and emotion, but also heat, levity and playfulness when the work called for it. A great listen.

An Amazing & Delightfully Heartfelt Story & Listen

It is great to be back in Baker’s Creek and spend some time with Aldridge brothers and their ever-growing family. Each book in the series features a different brother and stands on it own but I highly recommend reading and/or listening to them in order written, not only are they all great books but characters crossover into each other’s books and it is beneficial to know their backstory and seeing them again is like seeing old friends. This book is Mills and Hadley’s story, Mills is the hockey player out with an injury and a single father of an adorable son, Arden. His team, the Vancouver Orcas, released him from his contract, but he does not think hockey is over for him just yet. His injury is healing thanks to his brother Hayes, the surgeon, and he is contemplating his next move. But he is stuck in Baker’s Creek for now and is making the best of it and, along with his brothers, is trying to bring the town back to its glory. But with everyone busy, they need help, but because of their father’s stipulations, it limited them with what they can do. Hadley was not a fan of small town life and could not get out of Baker’s Creek fast enough, she landed a job in the city and is the social media director for a professional hockey team and lives downtown in an apartment with her boyfriend, Randall whose family owns the Denver Troopers. But everything changes in a blink of an eye when he catches Randall in a compromising position with his ex, she put her social media skills to work before storming out of this office though. So it is back to Baker’s Creek for her and moving back in with her parents who own the town’s bakery. Mills and Hadley’s path cross in the park and there is an instant attraction and a connection, and I loved Arden’s initial reaction to her, he is a smart kid. Mills and Hadley form a bond and he convinces the others she is the perfect fit to help watch their kids and they work out deals to help her family with their bakery. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully written and plotted story with plenty of drama, witty dialogue, charming humor, heartfelt emotions, and a lovely romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another fabulous story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter knock it out of the park portraying these characters and bringing them to life and their natural talent truly shined. They knew who each character was, chose a voice that fit that character’s persona and were believable in every role they played. Stella Hunter nailed it as Hadley grasped all sides of her personality, and Jason Clarke did the same for Mills, they were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. These talented and versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Thought there would be more

I like this series as a whole. Can’t wait to find out what their letters say but this story was lacking a bit. Points were introduced and then left hanging. It was like the series swung really far in one direction with beacon’s story and then over corrected in the other direction with this one. We did learn a few more tidbits though with this story and the start was hilarious with the main female’s reaction to her ex

Mills, Hadley and Arden

I enjoyed listening to this story. Sweet and continues the saga of the Aldridge brothers.

Both narrators did a great job. I felt that Jason Clarke’s voice was a bit older for Mills but did a great job overall.

Shorter than the other ones but great. Can’t wait to find out what the letters say and learn more about daddy dearest.

Sweet, Funny, and Heartfelt Romance!

I can not get enough of these sexy Aldridge brothers and The Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers series! Mills Aldridge is at a crossroads after an injury playing professional hockey. He is a single dad recovering while trying to make a stable loving home for him and his adorable little boy, Arden, but he still feels like an outsider living in Baker's Creek with his brothers. Hadley Heywood grew up in Baker's Creek and couldn't get away fast enough after being bullied while growing up. Now after a shocking event has returned home the one place she never wanted to be again. She and Mills meet one night in the park when they are looking for an escape from the town gossips. They are attracted to each other from the start, not only because they are both statistic nerds, but also because they don't know how they fit it with their families and the town. Hadley is in desperate need of help with finances and the Aldridge family needs a nanny, so they make an arrangement that helps them all. Hadley adores little Arden and they bond instantly which makes Mills fall for her even more. They try to keep everything professional but can't help acting on their attraction. They both dream of making a family together but with both their lives in Bakers Creek temporary, will they find the courage to ask the other to choose them first? This is such a sweet, funny, and heartfelt story. I love the bond these bothers are forming, making them all learn to open themselves up to love, and their sibling banter is more hilarious the more I get to know them! I also love the comradery of all the women and how they support each other, and find laughter when the men make mistakes.
Jason Clarke, and Stella Hunter were so perfectly cast to narrate this fun and emotional romance. They completely captured these complex characters and made me feel all the hope, heartbreak, vulnerability, love, and passion they possessed. I was completely mesmerized by their storytelling making this romance even more captivating.
I am still so intrigued and invested in finding out more about their father, and why he had them all move to Baker's Creek. This is such a great series, and Mills and Hadley's story was another fun, emotional and steamy romance that captured my heart and made me completely happy!

Arden is my favorite character!!

🅰🆄🅳🅸🅾🅱🅾🅾🅺 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆

First I have to give props to Stella Hunter & Jason Clarke for their performances in this book. They both have THE best kid voices and my absolute favorite character in this book is Mills' son, Arden. He's just the sweetest little boy and I dare anyone who reads this book to disagree that he's the best thing about this book!

Mills and Hadley start our as friends which I liked; they both agreed to stay platonic for Arden. That lasted about 2.5 seconds before they succumbed to their attraction.

Things I loved about this book: if you've been reading from the beginning you know there's a continuing story line to find out why their father William forced them to come together and live in Bakers Creek for 18 months according to his will. Each book reveals more of the story and this one hints at a big reveal!!

Bring on the next in series, I'm ready to be blown away!

Great!

It's Mills' turn at Baker's Creek and I fell even more in love with him and his son; especially with the narration. I was already a sucker for a single dad and getting to view glimpses of Mills in the previous stories has nothing on him on here. It's sweet and I loved how he was with Hadley. While there are funny moments as well as sweet ones we also have the emotional and gritty ones and the steamy ones I can't live without.

The narrators make this so much better and I have become a fan of Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter for how they bring the characters to life.

Loved it - Great story and great narration

As We Are is the fifth book in the series and was an entertaining read. From the first chapter to the last I was invested in Mills Aldridge and Hadley Heywood’s story. I love single parent stories and Mill’s little boy Arden is adorable.
Being forced to return to home Mills is not a happy man. When he hires Hadley to help with his son he has no idea that that decision will chance heir lives forever. The characters were entertaining and the story well written. There was romance, some humour and the camaraderie and banter between the Aldridge brothers added to my enjoyment.
The journey that Mills and Hadley embark on, the emotions and feelings that emerge was heart warming and the love they discovered made this an emotional, romantic love story and one I have no trouble in recommending.
Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter certainly brought Mills and Hadley to life for me. They did justice to the characters and the emotions expressed with voices that are easy to listen to.
