About this listen

When 17-year-old Imorean Frayneson receives a scholarship to Gracepointe University in Norway, he’s a bit surprised: He didn’t even remember applying.

When he arrives, he notices odd things: gates that lock at night, staff members who refuse to give straight answers, and most disturbing of all, a spectral creature that seems to be haunting him.

Before long, Imorean finds himself caught up in a sinister plan - one created 17 years ago - that threatens to destroy the life he knew and expose the secret truth of who he really is.

Great Mythological Story

Angels Rising is a coming of age story of Imorean Frayneson. There are alot of secrets in this first book and not alot of answers. I found the pacing to be a tad slow at points but overall the storyline flowed well. The world building was very descriptive anad I could easily visualize the scenes. The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life. I am looking forward to the next book to get more answers and see where the story goes next.

Scholarships out of country

Strange occurrences and classes off the track for electives create mysteries at this college set in Norway. But why Norway? With names of the instructors like Michael and Gabriel it wasn’t a reach where this going. The main character is being torn by the forces of good vs evil even though he doesn’t believe in it.

I found the cliffhanger of an ending a hard stop. Of course, in this type of series, I’ll have to read the next book to see what happens.
I voice of the main character was whiney—in fear-whiney, excited-whiney/nasally, terrified-whiney loud. Since he’s past puberty I was often distracted by this nasally whiney voice often thinking “does anyone talk like this all the time?” Otherwise the Narrator did a good job with the various other characters.

the beginnings of an Angel

very well written book, I enjoyed the storyline and I would definitely recommend. the narration however set of used some noise cancelling headphones and there is a duplicate line in chapter 25 I believe.

Not bad

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

I don't really have anything new to say that hasn't already been said. Like others, I liked the world and vivid descriptions. If you close your eyes and just listen, you can often see the scene play out like a movie, which is fun. The book was going really well and I was rooting for it, but I think the end was a poor decision by the author. I want a satisfying ending with resolution, and I didn't get that here. I think this format works better for TV shows, but each time I see this in books it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's not a bad book and was enjoyable throughout, but I think I would wait for the sequel before reading this again.

awesome

I have like this ending because it had just enough answers but still left me with questions.. there was some repeated sentences at time from the narrator.. and I could tell every time he licked his lips or swallowed because the microphone was a bit sensitive.. but overall I really enjoyed

Very good

This story had my attention from start to finish. I really liked it, it keeps you wondering the whole time and then when you finally learn something it leaves you on a cliff hanger. Very good performance by narrator however there are a few retakes that needed to be removed during editing. Really great book tho, very good job with the characters.

Unique Story

Very, very amazing paranormal YA.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with such a unique storyline. I loved the fact that this story had so many different interesting angles that all somehow still came together at the end. The book tackled the classic good versus evil struggle. The ending was intriguing though I wish there had been a bit more of a resolution. Characterization, descriptions, and worldbuilding is beautifully done.

The narration was spot on for the character and greatly added to the suspense of the story.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

College, debt free in Norway, who wouldn't go

I was sent this audible for a honest review.

When a group of young adults are given full ride scholarships to a distant Norway college, who wouldn't go? Imorean starts to think some things are not adding up to what was described by the staff at the college, a course in Mythology that everyone is required to take seems rather odd. Locked gates that seem to keep them in, secrets whispered in the hallways, something more is going on.

Imorean always had strange nightmares but they seem to be worse and crossing out of his dreams and into reality. What is going on. Imorean wants to know and will not stop until he finds out and confronts the staff.
