About this listen

The first edge-of-your-seat novel in the million-selling Girl in the Box Series by Robert J. Crane.

Sienna Nealon was a 17-year-old girl who had been held prisoner in her own house by her mother for twelve years. Then one day her mother vanished, and Sienna woke up to find two strange men in her home. On the run, unsure of who to turn to and discovering she possesses mysterious powers, Sienna finds herself pursued by a shadowy agency known as the Directorate and hunted by a vicious psychopath named Wolfe, each of which is determined to capture her for their own purposes.

Great book. It was very short but a good story to listen to. I enjoyed this very much. The performance on the other hand left something to be desired.

Short and sweet

What made the experience of listening to Alone the most enjoyable?

The most enjoyable experience of listening to Alone is that it is fast-paced.

What other book might you compare Alone to and why?

Rogue from X-Men (and you'd understand that if you read the comics and the book) and Paranormalcy because of the way Sienna was raised.

Which character – as performed by Annie Sullivan – was your favorite?

Wolf.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I have no idea.

Any additional comments?

Sienna reminds me a lot of Rogue from the X-Men in some ways and Paranormalcy in others. Wolf is one of the worst (and by this I mean horribly good) characters I have ever read and I loved his Karma.

All that said, I'm feel too old for this book and don't think I'll continue with the series. Although I'm sure my 17 year old daughter would love it.

I would recommend this book for a true Young Adult
