Publisher's summary

*****Audiobook format of All My Knotted-Up Life - ECPA's 2024 Christian Book of the Year Award WINNER*****

An incredibly thoughtful, disarmingly funny, and intensely vulnerable glimpse into the life and ministry of a woman familiar to many but known by few.

“It’s a peculiar thing, this having lived long enough to take a good look back. We go from knowing each other better than we know ourselves to barely sure if we know each other at all, to precisely sure that we don’t. All my knotted-up life I’ve longed for the sanity and simplicity of knowing who’s good and who’s bad. I’ve wanted to know this about myself as much as anyone. This was not theological. It was strictly relational. God could do what he wanted with eternity. I was just trying to make it here in the meantime. As benevolent as he has been in a myriad of ways, God has remained aloof on this uncomplicated request.” ―Beth Moore

All My Knotted-Up Life is a beautifully crafted portrait of resilience and survival, a poignant reminder of God’s enduring faithfulness, and proof positive that if we ever truly took the time to hear people’s full stories . . . we’d all walk around slack-jawed.

“Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater”

This book reminded me of the old adage, “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.” As a fellow lover, of the Word of God, and follower of Jesus. I had done a number of Beth’s studies and had been to five of Beth’s women’s conferences over the years. I was so disheartened to hear when her tweets had turn political. Especially, when my own church went the way of progressive Christianity during the height of our countries racial and political divide. We needed the church to be unified as the body of Christ, with sound biblical convictions at the helm. This was not a war between two ungodly men. This was a war between right and wrong. And policies that would make or break our country. I got this book as a last ditch effort to try to understand where Beth was coming from. And in the pages I would find God’s grace truly does cover a multitude of sins. And even though I don’t fully agree with her reasoning, I can see how her upbringing, experiences and perspectives, colored how she saw everything. I know in Jesus, we are all on our own journey. I can appreciate Beth Moore sharing hers with all of us! It was beautifully put together and had me in tears.

Beth Moore has written a powerful memoir!

I really enjoyed this book, at least her storytelling, and I love Beth Moore. Some of the things that she tell us about are very sad to read. That is the hypocrisy within some of the Christian organizations. It’s very sad that male dominance and power have become equated with certain religious groups in America and that these groups have aligned with certain political groups and people. I feel like Beth was careful to say things as gently as possible, but I was really hoping that she would even speak more powerfully against, these very unhealthy things in American Christianity/religion not really Christianity. Thank you for your honesty Beth, and I really appreciate your book.

What we don’t know…

I loved this book! I cried and I laughed and my heart broke…Lord forgive us for how we assume … shame on those of us who claim to love Christ for the way she was treated. Read tjis book…

All My Knotted-Up Life

I participated in numerous Bible studies led & created by Beth Moore over the years. When 9/11 happened I was in one…they didn’t let us know what was happening in the world til the study was finished that day…she has been so influential in my life. God has certainly used her life to spread His mercy love & forgiveness. When I learned she had left the SBC I just ‘had’ to read her book. Thank you Beth for being so human & vulnerable to share your life’s story. It certainly touched mine. My mother had bi-polar & PTSD. Very difficult relationship. She hurt me emotionally but through Gods grace I was able to forgive her Eventhough she ‘never’ said she was sorry for anything. As she was dying, she would have been the one to say…forgive me for what?! She & dad remained married 54 years…most couples I’ve come to know about with mental illness…do not. She was a devout Catholic. Knowing she is finally at peace & dad as well…I am finally at peace & have no regrets as there daughter. I can’t imagine how difficult it was for you to leave the SBC. And I’m thankful you spoke out about Trump and the issue of abuse to women overall. This life certainly doesn’t make sense a lot of times but knowing how God has worked in peoples lives from beginning of time through His God breathed word in the Bible gives me hope. It will be more than interesting to see how this election turns out. I don’t listen to much social media but know what’s going on. I ‘know’ Gods in control & that’s all that matters. Thanks for speaking out! God certainly has gifted you & I pray you & Keith enjoy retirement in your country home. So glad you found a new home in the Anglican community. My husband & I got married in the Episcopal church 35 years ago. I could go on but ‘well done good & faithful servant’!!!

Really Touched Me Deeply

(Disclaimer: I live in the south BUT, I am not now, nor ever have been a Southern Baptist. I’m a Catholic- Southern Baptists’ exact opposite).

I’ve know Beth Moore Bible Studies/Events for almost 20 years now. So, throughout those years she has shared parts of her life during Bible studies and Live Events often as anecdotes, sometimes funny and other times horribly sad. But, she never got completely and totally open about anything family related.

This book is the total opposite and the vulnerability of opening up fully has been cathartic for me as well (we share so many life experiences it’s scary).

I honestly love this book and, this more mature (We’re the same age 🙂) and vulnerable Beth. I am honestly proud of her perseverance and strength through these last few years (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘛𝘐𝘓𝘓 𝘛𝘖𝘋𝘈𝘠!) while being attacked by those same people who LOVED HER 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 2016 and her stance against Trump.
Well done, Girl♥️. You deserve to be heard!

WONDERFUL

Words cannot express…thank you Beth for writing this. It filled in so many gaps from all the years you have ministered to me. I’m so sorry for the things you had to go through, but so thankful for your willingness to follow the Lord’s leading, and share your life with us. YOUR Bible studies changed my life. Thank you. A very special story

This is by far one of the most touching memoirs I have ever read. It’s heartbreaking, harrowing, funny, and encouraging. Beth’s vulnerability is so brave and I felt….less alone while reading it. I will return to it over and over again because it’s not enough to hear it once.

Blessed beyond my ability to express

Beth’s words have left me permanently moved and changed for the better. Never have I seen another person so broken and mended so beautifully on this side of heaven. Thank you, Beth, for opening wide your story in such humility for the world to behold His mercy and grace.
