About this listen

The skelkrins. Predators from deep space. Creatures of claws, fangs, and unending malice. They swarm across the galaxy, slaying all in their path. Planets burn in their wake. And now they're heading to Earth.

Raphael "Riff" Starfire commands the Alien Hunters, a group of scruffy mercenaries. Galactic pest controllers, they mostly handle small critters - aliens that clog up your engine pipes, gnaw on your hull, or burrow through your silos.

Riff and his crew have never faced anything like the skelkrins before. As these cosmic killers invade our solar system, will Riff be the one hunting aliens...or will aliens hunt him?

Alien Hunters - a space opera adventure for fans of Star Wars, Firefly, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Alien hunters

I haven't found a Daniel Arron son book yet that I don't like. This one was slow to start but got more exciting as it went along. The audible narrative was very good. The narrator was able to give voices to each character which always makes the story more enjoyable.

Hunting the hunters.

The amazing author Daniel Arenson does it once again with a series which reminds you of lord of the ring containing ( Half ling like the hobbit farmers growing pumpkins, dwarfs which are miners with bearded women, Parillians with pointy ears and magical powers reminding elves , wizards plus much more including precious ), but all in space.
In short a mix of magical fantasy with a technology of science fiction, an adventure like no others or a mixture of many others.

Beautiful narration by Jack R. R. Evans of each of the characters in this creation.

My recommendations !!!

Oded Ostfeld.

No science, just fiction

The story is campy and fun in a guardian of the galaxy kind of way. The science in the story falls real short. Diverting enough. The narrator is excellent.

some characters are flat

this was a decent Young Adult Book. I did feel that the character still was a bit flat and underdeveloped. the character steel was especially flat and annoying.

Hunters

I don't usually write a review. I do not write eloquently like others but I do want to say I loved this book so much so that when it was done immediately bought the next book in the series
It's a little like Star Wars meets Star Trek the character build up was wonderful
I could actually "see" them all by the description
Loved how the author took messed up characters and slowly built a believable team and by the end of the book the camaraderie left me almost in tears got the next book to see what happens now they all work together

Very Young Adult

It’s not horrible, but be warned it’s not for lovers of good science fiction. There is never a part in the book where one could think “yeah, that could happen”. Kinda like the Hobbit in space without the literary chops. Get it for your 13 year old though.

The Skelkrin are coming!

The Skelkrins, alpha predators of the Milky Way galaxy, are pursuing a young Pirilian girl who holds the key to conquering the galaxy. The 8 foot tall, crimson skinned beasts had held Midnight in one of their prisons while they tortured and studied her, trying to find how to use her ability to teleport herself anywhere she could see to power their spacecraft. Midnight was helped to escape by an old human man with a long white beard. Aminor, also called the Traveller or the Wizard, had set her on her way to Earth, telling her to find his son Riff Starfire.
Riff Starfire, blues player extraordinaire (he thinks), is in the middle of his set at the Blues Strings club when the men who killed his mother walked in the door. The Cosmians, humans who worship the skelkrins, led by Grotter, half man and half machine, whose mechanical claw had crushed the life from his mother thirty years earlier, dragged Riff off the stage.
And so begins an exciting and hilariously entertaining adventure with Riff, his brother Steel, the love of his life Nova, and the crew of Riff's newly acquired starship the HMS Dragon Huntress. The innovative writing style and whimsical interactions between the characters brought this story an excellent mix of page-burning action and bursts of unexpected humor. I literally couldn't drag myself away from the story until I finished. I just bought the rest of this trilogy, and I can't wait to continue the adventure.
