About this listen

The Alexandre Dumas Collection, with its deep roots in French history, sheds light on the innate sense of honor, duty, responsibility, and love felt by those who lived during the time. In the first story, The Count of Monte Cristo, you will be drawn into the adventures that a formerly imprisoned sailor endures in search of fortune and revenge, only to find mercy, forgiveness, and love at the end of his journey.

The Three Musketeers, the second story, is rife with friendship, loyalty, duels for honor, and position. Ultimately, the story’s protagonist is faced with the harsh reality of the high cost of that which he so laboriously and painstakingly sought after. Listen as the author takes you on a historical journey to a time when men fought to the death for what they believed in, when executions were a public event, and jewels were traded for secrets!

Join us for a reading of The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers, and where you will be enchanted by the adventure, danger, and vengeance that these two tales depict. The Alexandre Dumas Collection is certainly worthy of its world-renowned status as historical fiction and "keep you on the edge of your seat" adventures.

I haven’t made it through all 79 hours yet (it's a beast!), but I've dipped in and out and wow what a treat. The narration is top-notch, and Dumas’s storytelling is as gripping and emotional as ever. The Count of Monte Cristo pulls you in with its themes of justice and redemption, while The Three Musketeers is full of action and camaraderie. Even just listening in pieces, I’m hooked. Can’t wait to keep going. Totally worth it!

I’ve seen the movies and read most of his books. Dumas adjust characters based on historical contexts very well. The movies are OK, but the originals top any remake. I’ll never understand how they can simply skim over so much good content from these books when filming.

I’m really glad that I picked this version to listen to these classics. The narrator did a great performance for these long works. Dumas would be happy.

This collection of Alexandre Dumas brings us two classic stories of honor, revenge, friendship, and loyalty. I remember studying these in school and it was great to come back to it, the only thing is the pronunciations may be a bit off but overall I really enjoyed reliving these tales!

A magnificent journey through two of literature's greatest adventures, this collection brings Dumas's masterworks to vivid life through superb narration. The intertwining tales of revenge, honor, and redemption in "The Count of Monte Cristo" alongside the swashbuckling brotherhood and political intrigue of "The Three Musketeers" create an unmatched listening experience.
What truly sets this collection apart is how it transports you to a France where honor meant everything and every sword thrust could change history. The Count's transformation from the innocent Edmond Dantès to the calculating avenger, and finally to a man who discovers mercy, is rendered with such skill that you'll find yourself sitting in your car long after reaching your destination, unable to stop listening.
Meanwhile, "The Three Musketeers" pulses with energy as d'Artagnan and his companions navigate a world of deadly duels, secret romances, and royal conspiracies. The narrator masterfully distinguishes each character, making the complex web of relationships and loyalties crystal clear.
This collection doesn't just tell stories – it creates a time machine to an era when a man's word was his bond and adventure lurked around every corner. Whether you're a first-time listener or returning to these classics, these performances will keep you spellbound from start to finish. An absolute must-have for any audiobook library.
