About this listen

Jake Tanner is a gay asexual man who finds peace on his small Australian farm and is content to lead a quiet life taking care of his animals. Then a random act of kindness on his part sets in motion a complex series of events that results in him playing the piano in a local pub and meeting Damien Jamieson, a sexy gay biker with a penchant for leather. Damien finds Jake instantly irresistible, but that could be the worst thing for their budding relationship, as Damien is determined to bed the reluctant Jake. However, Jake has no intention of going along with his plan. If there's a chance for anything between them, Damien will have to figure out how to turn Jake on without scaring him off.

Good story

Any additional comments?

My first anything my this author. And it was very enjoyable.

Jake, was a character that I found pretty negative towards himself. It’s like he’s bitter with himself for having the feeling or lack of feelings. So where he wants the partner, and happy ever after, he’s already resigned himself to that never happening. And any relationship that may come across, already has an exp. date.

Damien, is almost the exact opposite, very sexual. Which I also found unique for his background. Although we we’re never told that he ‘worked the streets’ as a young teenager. It was implied. So you would have thought with that background he would shy away from sex. Not the case. It almost became annoying the way he would want and want and then get mad.

Both Damien and Jake had a lot of issues to work out and through. Luckily, Jake has the music as a release but Damien needs something.

As you can tell, you really get sucked into these characters and the drama surrounding them. Which is great, but then it always makes you have a lot of opinions about certain things. And you try for that not to influence the review, it does.

I can’t say, in real life if this would be a healthy relationship, without either one of these people getting help. But I love that both are trying and are devoted to each other by the end.

The narrator did a wonderful job keeping up with it all, from Judy, to Diane to the men in the story.

Acephobic book pretending to be acepositive

This is a pile of garbage, telling us that a sexuality can be ‘cured’ and that we jsut ‘have to have sex with the right person’…
Damien is a pile of garbage and emotionally abusive and jsut.. bleh

if you’re ace, or know someone who is, don’t read this, don’t make yourself go through this pain. Go read something uplifting and positive like Blank Spaces by Cass Lennox or Upside down by N. R. Walker.
