More than 100,000 people were told to evacuate! The area had experienced several years of drought. However, recent rains were causing the dam’s spillway to be in danger of breaking. If the break occurred, the flood water would endanger the lives of those in its path. Frantic efforts were being carried out to repair the spillway. I listened to the news report. My heart was touched, and I prayed for those in that area. I couldn’t imagine all they were going through to find a safe place and leave their homes and possessions behind. The prospects of a destructive river flooding their area was a real threat. At the same time, I was praying for those people, I was reminded of a refreshing prophetic river that the Lord is ready to release on Earth. This prophetic river will spill out into the dry, barren places on Earth. This river is able to touch lives that have never been touched before. The Lord is ready to release His prophetic river in the Earth’s desert places (Isaiah 43:18–19). Past moves of God experienced powerful demonstrations of the Spirit. Past revelation was impressive in its day. We are thankful for those moves and appreciate what God did in the past. Yet, we cannot live in the past. God has opened the realm of the Spirit and is revealing new things to this generation. Today, God is releasing revelation in proportions that were unheard of in the past. Life in the Spirit is like the upgrading of computers. We are in our kairos time to jump into the prophetic river that God is releasing in this season. A kairos time is an opportune time. It is a time when the Lord is ready to do something new. God wants to upgrade us in fresh, new revelation, prophetic gifts and our impact on Earth. He will do this as we access our prophetic gift from the Council Room of the Lord! We are like Jacob in our wrestling to get into God’s new prophetic move of the Spirit. The old religious order is struggling to stay alive. The traditional religious order denies that speaking in tongues is for today. It denies that prophets and prophecy are for today. The religious leaders believe prophetic people are merely troublemakers. The Early Church experienced the effect of what they considered troublemakers. That Church was so full of the Holy Spirit that they seemed to constantly cause trouble with the old religious order. To stay alive, this old religious order is gasping for breath. The new prophetic move of God is in the birth pangs of bringing forth a new prophetic move! Prophets and prophetic people are about to birth something new on Earth. Like the dam ready to break, like the waters in a woman about to give birth… the waters of a new prophetic move are pressing to break open. God wrestled with Jacob (Genesis 32:24–28). Today, God is wrestling to bring His people into their true prophetic identity. Your past identity is not who you are. It is not your potential nor your future. You have access to your prophetic gift from God’s Council Room. Your access will unlock your new prophetic identity. Like Jacob of old, you are ready for a name change. Jacob became Israel. Israel means “striver with God.” It also means “God commands.” Jacob wrestled until the daybreak. You are standing at the end of the darkness of your night season. You are entering the daybreak of a new beginning in your prophetic destiny. You are wrestling to break out of your old identity. You are hearing the command of the Lord to step into His Council Room. Agree with Him that you will not leave until you access your prophetic gift!
