About this listen
Diana, a little black cat, is bored by the long, cold days. Cyrus, her older and wiser friend, tries to keep her out of trouble with regular lectures, but temptations are everywhere. From sliding on the kitchen towel to "capturing" the sewing room tape measure, Diana is on the prowl for fun, when what should she discover but the most amazing tree she has ever seen - with "pretty bobbles and balls just begging to be knocked off and batted around the room."
When their mischief is discovered, the two house cats have a night out in the snow to look forward to. But it is, after all, the Christmas season, with charity even for two ornery cats.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

A Darling Book for a Young Child
Where does A Tale of Two Kitties rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
With younger and younger children using iPads and other devices, this short tale is a purr-fect listen. Kitten Diana is curious about everything while her more experienced friend Cyrus explains to her the proper way to behave. Once a tempting tree is placed in the house, loaded with shiny objects, caution is thrown to the wind.
Who was your favorite character and why?
In a subtle way, this kitten story can relate to the relationship between an enthusiastic toddler and an older sibling.
Have you listened to any of Jodi Bowersox’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me smile and wish for a fleeting time that I could have my own Diana and Cyrus.

Delightful
What did you love best about A Tale of Two Kitties?
I was asked to listen to this story and found it to be delightful. I particularly enjoyed the humour. And it was pleasing to hear a tale from a cat's point of view.
What other book might you compare A Tale of Two Kitties to and why?
Children's books with animals.
What does Jodi Bowersox bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
A completely different feel to the story, although the word 'measure' sounded odd to me, unless that is an American way of saying it?
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was only a short tale, so yes.
Any additional comments?
Very well done by both the writer and narrator.

You have to have this book!
Would you consider the audio edition of A Tale of Two Kitties to be better than the print version?
This is a darling story about two cats that do things cats do! The words paint great pictures of what is happening, but I loved it best when following along with the hard copy book to see the great illustrations. This would be a great gift for any lover of animal tales.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Tale of Two Kitties?
When they cats were un-decorating the Christmas tree it make me think of those special times in my life!
Have you listened to any of Jodi Bowersox’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Jodi's performances are well spoken and easy listening.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is a short tale - about 12 minutes

Sweet and cute - would make a great bedtime story
Would you listen to A Tale of Two Kitties again? Why?
Yes, I've already listened to it twice and I can't wait to share it with my granddaughter. I enjoyed hearing about the two kitties and their mischief and consequences, and the ending was just perfect.
What other book might you compare A Tale of Two Kitties to and why?
Peter Rabbit or The Poky Little Puppy, because even naughty little animals are loved by their parents in all three books.
Which character – as performed by Jodi Bowersox – was your favorite?
Diana was my favorite, because she wasn't stuffy like Cyrus seemed at first. But then when we got to see another side of Cyrus, it was a lot of fun. I liked them both.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes! It was just right for one sitting.
Any additional comments?
It threw me for a bit when I realized "Cyrus" was a female. Maybe it's spelled differently from what I am imagining. But that was my only quibble. And it's not a big deal. Cats can be named all sorts of ways.

Ok
My son who loves cats wasn’t very interested. It was also too cutesy for my taste.
