About this listen

As the blacksmith in Pinyon Falls, Silas Barrett hasn’t had much luck finding a woman who’d let him court her. Christian Historical Romance

Great story with a wonderful reminder for us all. Put your trust in God! I liked the dual narration very much! And their timing was perfect too. There was never any awkward space or talking over each other! They make a great team!

Sweet Story

I found this book not only a sweet love story but an inspirational statement about marriage. Jacqueline arrives as a mail order bride for Silas. When he sees her, he has doubts about them being together. Both Jacqueline and Silas take marriage very seriously. Because Silas seems to have doubts, they decide to wait to marry while they get to know each other. From there the story develops with some events that make Silas learn to trust Jacqueline and most importantly to trust the Lord. Good read!

The narration was good. Even though I didn't like the male voices, that is mostly based on personal preference. Otherwise, I thought it was a good narration.

Stubborn Man

Listening to A Match for Silas was enjoyable. Silas is a blacksmith and has trouble finding a suitable bride, as everyone considers his job, dirty and smelly. Being other men have had good luck with finding a bride through a matchmaker, Silas puts in for one too. His one request was that the lady cannot come from money. He is just an ordinary man and wants a wife that will appreciate him, for his values. Agatha, the matchmaker, doesn’t have the spunk as before, but still matches up Silas with Jacqueline. When she arrives, Silas doesn’t understand how he got Jacqueline. She is lovely, but she definitely comes from money and he can’t offer her much. He doesn’t want to wed quickly, much to Jacqueline’s surprise. Can Silas get past his stubbornness and believe it could work. Lovely story and charming characters.

Good book!

I really enjoyed this book. While I understand why. Silas struggled with self confidence, I felt like he belittled himself a little too much and that's what kept me from giving this a five star rating.

I really liked the story overall. It's a wholesome romance that also has some suspense in it. The author brought people from two different worlds, yet not two different ways of thinking, together and wrote a good story.

The narration was done well.

Excellent

I found it. Enjoyable and interesting and a delight to listen to these audio stories by this author. Silas has an imagine of what he wants in a bride. What arrives is so different, though this is what was needed. A marriage of trust to develop,
for both of them Received arc copy for my voluntary review..loved it and recommend.
