Publisher's summary

What would you sacrifice to find true happiness?

Terry Boyle is your typical small-town guy. Friendly, kind to strangers, a devoted husband and father. A gentle soul quietly moving through life. But still waters run deep, and Terry’s inner turmoil derives from a secret that he can’t share with anyone.

As fate would have it, Terry’s guarded world is turned upside down the day he walks into a hardware store and meets Renee Patrick, a free-spirited beauty who is as tough as the nails she sells from her family business. Unfiltered and unapologetic about her questionable lifestyle, Renee ignites a spark deep inside Terry.

As these two lost souls embark on an unlikely relationship, they are both forced to face secrets they have long kept hidden in order to survive. Now, each of them must decide if they will risk completely destroying their fragile existence in a last attempt to find true happiness.

Thought provoking!

I did not read the summary as I am partial to the author and didn't need to. after the first two chapters, I really didn't know what to expect, but of course my brain went down a somewhat singular path. pleasantly surprised Midway through. there were definitely some gripping twists and turns. I was always left on the edge of my seat. actually not knowing what's going to happen next. I enjoyed the short chapters as it made for easy starting and stop points. it was very well written, thought provoking to reflect on your own life and the decisions you make. Well done!

Terrific! VERY well-written!

This audiobook was such a pleasant surprise! A wonderful book from a first-time author and I cannot wait to read and listen to more! The narration was good but the story was phenomenal and reminds me a lot of another writer that I enjoy so much. Fredrick Backman and his MAN CALLED OVE. This book has the same wonderful human insights as well as twists and surprises that celebrate life and the human condition, flaws and all. I cannot wait for the next title from this talented author. :-)

Beautiful

Wonderfully written and narrated. It is a very emotional journey of some very broken people.
