I really enjoyed the e-book and the auditable one as well. Both are the same, but when you listen to it becomes alive in the story in a really way.
I always advise to read books in order, this is the 1st in new series.
Read his first books Freaky Florida, about a home health Nurse Missy, who will show up in the Magic Guild to help her cousin.

New first in series

This author is new to me and this is the first book in this series., It was a fun listen with great characters and paranormal elements and a mystery to solve.
And the detective is not bad either!
Madeline Mrozek did a great job with the narration.

Great Author!

Loved this one. I had already read the book but Audio just seems to make it come alive. Ward Parker is one of my favorite Authors. This series and his other series that takes place in Florida (sorry no spoilers here) are wonderful and very imaginative. Highly recommend!

Just okay

Interesting storyline. A little different but the main character was very annoying. Did a lot of stupid things. Definitely not someone I’d like in my life.

Entertaining

This is the first book by this author that I have read or listened to. I was offered an audio copy by the narrator. I am not required to positively review the book nor the narration. These are my own opinions.

At first, I felt I was being talked down to but that is not on the narrator.

Our protagonist is Darla, and she is a psychometrist. A psychometrist defined in this book is a person that can read other people's memories by touching objects they have touched. This can be beneficial unless you haven’t learned to manage it. A side effect can be death if you relive the death of another.

I laughed out loud often while listening to this story. I found it entertaining and am looking forward to the next episode.

A Keep You Listening Tale

Having read the book, I didn’t expect to really get caught up in the audible version…how wrong I was! It was as if I had missed half of the author’s intended plot. The narrator does a commendable job interpreting the characters, though the male interest comes off sounding a little less attractive than I pictured him…but hey, he was still doing and saying all the right things! This story would keep me awake and interested far into the night, which it did. Give it a listen if you enjoy reading about the paranormal and it’s many nuances!!

I'm not a Floridian, but I do really geek history, and this book has lots of it!
Magic runs in her family so she's accustomed to it, but she suddenly discovers a talent for psychometry, her mother's new talents, her daughter's lack of direction since college, AND the dead body of her dear friend. AND a historic coin with some really bad effects. And THAT"S just the beginning! Lots of humor, several centuries of Floridian historical tidbits, a skeptical (but hot) police detective, and lots of characters who are memorable and delightful. Loved it!
Madeline Mrozek has the monumental task of narrating this great story, giving life to the cast of many, and managing to keep from laughing out loud!

Super hard to wait for book 2

Madeline did a superb job with narration. I felt I knew each of the characters so much better from inflection and cadence she used. The story is great and I really cannot wait to find out about the last husband. No spoilers here, read or listen for yourself!

what a great start to this series

I look forward to future books. This book did not disappoint. It even answered questions I had. I enjoy this style of writing. As always I love this narrators work. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Loved it

This audio book was so great! I loved the story line and everything about this book. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing it to life!
