About this listen

From the author of the highly acclaimed Sean Kruger Series comes a new adventure featuring ex-Marine sniper and retired CIA operator, Michael Wolfe.

Somebody wants Wolfe, and his ex-Mossad girlfriend, Nadia Picard, dead. When an attempt to assassinate them in Barcelona, Spain goes awry, they manage to find their way back to Wolfe’s rustic property in remote southern Missouri unscathed. Not one to hide from a threat, Wolfe aggressively starts using his training and skills to find out who tried to eliminate them in Barcelona, but more importantly - why.

Filled with well-crafted characters and the trademark twists and turns of a J.C. Fields novel, A Lone Wolf will keep you listening late into the night

It was entertaining

The story moves well and the narration was for the most part very good. Unfortunately the narration was not well suited to the female parts
But otherwise a good listen

Good if you like spy novels

While on vacation I listened to this with my husband because he loves this genre. He throughly enjoyed it and I was happy to have him along to keep me straight on all the characters.
The narrator has a voice similar to Sam Elliott and it served its purpose for about 90% of the story. He was terrible on the British accent and the female lead But I can accept it.
It was a fun ride, even if you know where it’s going.

Poor narration! Didn't finish book!

Only my 2nd audiobook out of 300+ that I didn't finish because of the narrator.

Like the story. The narration is grating.

I like the story and concept. Got about 1/2 way. Struggling with the narration. The voices and accents are distracting and poor. Too poor to continue given all the really good books and narration out there. I will return this one.

Good plot -weak dialog

This seemed so very typical of this type of story. It is a story I like, a fast paced action thriller. But nothing new. Dialog seemed forced and unreal. Narration was hard to get around and subtracted rather than added. Still, not a bad book because the plot had merit. Worth a discounted listen ( that is how I got it).

A decent book hurt by poor narration

My first JC Fields and Wolf book. A decent story, nothing too original. Would have enjoyed it more except for the monotonous narration. I think I’ll skip anything performed by Paul McSorley in the future

Great First Installment

I’d say J.C Fields did a great job at making a captivating story to kick off a new main character for a book. I’m excited to see how these characters develop in this world J.C has created. I’ll be happily waiting for the next book! I also wanted to add Paul McSorley did an amazing job with his narration and making these characters come to life. I hope to hear him in the future for the next story.
