About this listen

Ebeneezer Scrooge runs a tight shop with a tight fist and a sharp tongue. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his old partner, Jacob Marley. Marley relates that in order for Scrooge’s soul to be reclaimed, he must be haunted by three spirits. The first of the three appear, and Scrooge’s reclamation begins.

A classic tale read by a great narrator.

I really like Harrison’s voice. One of my favorite narrators. And I like this story. I picture the Muppets whenever I hear it.

A Great Story Well Told!

There's no doubt that A Christmas Carol is a great story. It's a classic that we enjoy year after year, reminding us to keep Christmas in our hearts all year long. You just can't improve on that! But even a great story can be told in such a way it becomes boring and humdrum. Not so with this version!

B.J. Harrison is a master storyteller! His reading of this classic tale is mesmerizing. His versatility in vocalizing the various characters keeps the story fresh and fun to listen to. Even though this is a story you know well, you will be captivated all over again with Mr. Harrison's presentation.

I've been a fan of B.J. Harrison for a long time though his Classic Tales podcast - I can honestly say I've never heard him tell a story badly. He is a narrator who doesn't disappoint. Add this book to your audio collection so you can listen to it each year at Christmas. You won't be sorry!

A hard story to tell.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

A Christmas Carol is so well known and such a wonderful story that telling it is hard. The performance was OK, not great. Although it would be a great story no matter what, but so many Audible books are better. Maybe look for a different narrator.
