About this listen

Discover the bestselling Escape to the Lakes series from MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Jessica Redland

Rosie feels like there's something missing in her life.

She loves her job as the manager of Willowdale Hall Riding Stables, caring for the horses and teaching children to ride, and she loves the home she shares with her mother in the beautiful Lake District. But she can't help wondering how her life might look if things had been different. What if her father had been around to help care for her mother? And what if she'd found someone special herself?

When Hubert Cranleigh - the owner of Willowdale Hall - is taken ill, his son Oliver steps into the breach. Brooding and distant, Rosie is furious when he claims not to know who she is. Especially when they have a history.

Rosie's life is about to be turned upside down, but with the New Year comes new opportunities. What Rosie feels is missing from her life might be closer than she thinks, and with more significant consequences than she could ever have imagined...

Take a breath of fresh air and escape to the Lake District with million-copy bestseller Jessica Redland, for an uplifting story of family, friendship and love.

Awesome story! The cliff hanger really got me. I can’t wait for the next book.

Great story line. I love how she keeps you hanging on. She has me drawn into the series.

Resounding five stars from me for both the story and the performance

I just finished “A Breath of Fresh Air” and straight up, it’s a full five stars for the story and the narration. The characters, especially Rosie and Oliver, are so well-drawn that I felt like I was right there with them. The narrator, Rebecca Norfolk, was amazing—her performance really made the story pop and kept everyone hooked, which is why I loved it so much.

The mix of mystery and romance was on point, not overdone at all, making it perfect for a group listen on a road trip. It’s got that empathic pull where you’re happy when the characters are happy—it’s that engaging. And, wow, that cliffhanger at the end had me thrown—I didn’t expect it, and now I’m super eager to find out what’s next for Rosie and Oliver, and who Oliver’s dad will turn out to be.

This book, and the series, are keepers for sure. Whether you’re here for the thrills, the laughs, or the ‘aww’ moments, you won’t be let down. Counting down the days until the next one!

Cant wait…

Loved it! I can’t wait for the next one. I didn’t read the reviews before I got it because I have loved all her books, I would have known it ended on a cliffhanger. The narrator is one of my favorites and she definitely still is. I love the feel good story and the Lake District in general. I definitely recommend the series and the author!

Great story

Jessica knows how to write a great story with a bright ending. Surprise she leaves us on a cliffhanger a first for one of her books. Can't wait for the answers.

Terrific story. Great read.

Found myself really loving this second book in the series. Can’t wait for the third. Terrific narration, and a well paced story of love lost and found. Bravo. Hopefully she is a fast writer so that I can read the next book soon.

I love the setting and the way the author paints a picture in my mind of countryside.

I like the characters. And am looking forward to book number three. Especially to learn who is Oliver's father.

Predictable

Typically love her books but not this series. Very predictable with the exception of the cliff hanger ending. Not sure I’m that invested in reading it.
