About this listen

Zoey Rivers has a pretty great job as head of staff at Sunnyside Retired Witches Community. She's good at handling the magical messes that are part and parcel of providing a home for elderly (and some slightly senile) witches.

But when the messes turn from slightly sloppy to hugely horrible, Zoey realizes there's more involved than just her residents. If she doesn't figure out who's causing havoc at the home, the place might not be standing for much longer.

If you love crime capers with magic, mayhem, and mystery, you'll adore Zoey Rivers and her comical crew of witch retirees.

Please note: This book is a crime caper, not a murder mystery.

Loved this book!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It is a really cute story and who wouldn't want to read about the mayhem and mischief that can happen in a retired witches home! And the author really delivers. She did an excellent job of developing the characters and giving them all such distinct character and personality. And the narrator does an excellent job of bringing them all to "life" with her voicing. I can't wait to listen to the next book to discover what other chaos and craziness there is in store for the residents!

Good cozy, light reading

This is a good beginning to a series. The story is light quick reading, satisfying ending, likeable characters.

The narrator was not so much of a hit for me. She has too “young” a voice for the characters, the men’s voices were not consistent, and she seemed a little... well, not invested. Just sort of not flat but not into it.

Cute book

This was my first audiobook and I really enjoyed it! It was a cute book and I loved how the narrator used different voices for the different characters.

Great Cozy Mystery

Both the author Paula Lester and narrator Ashley Music are new to me. I I loved this cozy mystery book from start to finish. It’s a cozy mystery and one that I found thoroughly entertaining. In fact I listened to this one in almost one go as I kept saying, just one more chapter.

I really liked Zoey River, she is a great character and the residents of the retired witches home were quirky and fun. This was a a book filled with secrets and clues to satisfy my detective spirit. The intrigue and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat as I listened to this story.
