Why the shitty accent?

I coudn’t get through it, the horrible(mexican?) accent tried by the reader failed miserably. It sounds like something from a Rob
Schneider movie and I coudn’t face 9 hours of it.

An engaging story that kept me listening!

The reader was great, bringing it to life! Jules Verne is a great author and this was an interesting and well done plot line!

Good story, bad accents.

I struggled to finish. Narrator's cholo accent is horrible; the narration itself was enjoyable

back stories too long, ponderous

I am a big Jules Verne fan, this one was not among his best. I am looking forward to another book.

Couldn't finish it

I was excited to listen to this book by Jules Verne, however, the fake accent used by the narrator completely ruined it for me. He did a great job reading all the parts without having an accent, but when it came to those, it was grating and hard to understand. I may try the book by another narrator.

Read the book in this order.

Read chapter 1. They are sailing on a boat in the Amazon there is Mom and Dad, and there is a love triangle. Then start on chapter 19 and enjoy. There I have saved time and made the book enjoyable. thank me later

Bad

I would love to finish the book but the voice actor is very very bad.

Horrible reading

If only the reader would not have used a stupid accent for certain characters-which is not only annoying but cannot be understood what is said-, this would be great. I really cannot make out what he's saying and so could not listen to the book.

Poor/Offensive Narration Spoils Good Story

The stereotypical accent used by narrator for the diverse cast of South American characters in the novel kept me from moving past chapter 7. The story is the only reason I lasted that long.
