Jack and the Beanstalk was good. Most of the stories before were rather gruesome. Hoping a few others are worth listening too. The studio also needs a mute button, the narrator was coughing at times.

Since it was 66 cents ok.

So sad. The narrator was coughing in the middle of the story. but it was only .66cent so not complaining about the price. just because this is for kids doesn't mean it should be pour quality.

Disappointed.

Good old fairytales from my childhood, but wow! The narrator coughs in a few stories. There are whole parts repeated in a number of stories. Guess I got my $.66 worth!

Was this even edited?

Nicole Miller performed the stories well, and kept the attention of 5 and 8 year old. The first chapter "Tom Tit Tot" was a shorter variation of Rumpelstiltskin. The Three Bears replaced Goldilocks with an old woman. Still, glad to have these stories for the littles in my life. Conversation starters, too.

Well told, but not the same versions I've read

everything is told as if the speaker is from 1890 fronteer some where in western kansas.

tawz & aint and TARNATION

I was severely disappointed in the delivery of this expecting them to be more "original" not translated into uneducated midwestern-er

with a midwestern/southern American twist

Not sure what I expected but I cant really listen to this with my kids in the car due to every single story being about jealousy and killing people. Can someone rewrite these to not terrify children?

A lot of jealousy and killing

I was expecting original stories by original authors. These stories are edited very oddly. As an example, in "The Three Bears," the bears are described as being very nice bears who didn't think they had to lock their door because they thought everyone was as nice as they were. Goldilocks is described as a bad person who says bad words when she finds the porridge too hot, too cold, etc. Sure, it was only 66 cents, but it wasn't worth even that.

Not Classic At All

i realize some old stories and fairy tales are unusual, but many of these stories are actually disturbing and not uplifting. often, it was difficult to find the moral to the story among the distirbing tales.

The reader did well with her storytelling voices and is quite pleasant to listen to.

There seems to be a few recording errors where we are torn away from the story bc the reader coughs or clears her throat and these are not part of the story. This causes serious distraction from the ambiance of storytelling. I can only assume the recording tech people forgot to delete those moments out.

Maybe listen before allowing your children to listen, some stories quite disturbing. these stories are not the familiar beloved stories, they are the odd and somewhat shocking ones.

Not what I expected

Very old tales that are frightening to many children. Title on Audible did not make it plain exactly what the "classic children's stories" were.

Frightened my granddaughters, and the narrator coughed a lot.
