Sometimes there is a debate about what part of the Bible a new Christian should read, meaning should I read the Old Testament or the New Testament. In my opinion, every believer should spend twice as much time in the New Testament than the Old Testament. Let me tell you my reasoning:
- God deals with us in covenants and presently, we are operating under the New covenant instituted by Jesus Christ
- The Old Testament is a shadow of the New
- Once you have spent time in the New Testament, you are better placed to read the Old Testament
Before you throw this book away as though I were to be implying that you should not read the whole bible; let me be clear in what I am saying to you. The whole Bible is relevant to us but because God deals with us with covenants, we need to be very familiar with the covenant under which were operating then we can read the Old with the goggles of the New Testament.
Having said that: The reason for this audiobook is to help us pray through the transformed life required by the New Testament.
Many of the prayers in this book are those that I have benefited from immensely and others can testify to the power that is released when we pray these prayers!
