Es ist das Jahr 1984 und das Leben hat sich massiv verändert. Luftstützpunkt Nummer Eins, vormals bekannt als Großbritannien, ist ein Ort, den Big Brother ständig überwacht und wo sich niemand verstecken kann. Außer vielleicht Winston Smith. Während er im Ministerium für Wahrheit daran arbeitet, die Geschichte umzuschreiben, träumt er insgeheim von der Freiheit. Und in einer Welt, in der Liebe und Sex verboten sind, in der man Freund und Feind nur schwer unterscheiden kann, begegnet er Julia und O‘Brien und schwört zu rebellieren.
Mit Jannik Schümann als Winston, Cynthia Micas als Julia, Ronald Zehrfeld als der anziehende, geheimnisvolle O‘Brien und Mehmet Kurtuluş als Big Brother präsentiert Audible eine neue Hörspielfassung von George Orwells klassischer Geschichte. Ein Hörerlebnis, so immersiv wie noch nie zuvor, und das nichts von seiner Aktualität eingebüßt hat.
Mit einer eindringlichen Musikkomposition von Muse-Sänger und Songwriter Matthew Bellamy und Ilan Eshkeri, eingespielt vom London Metropolitan Orchestra in den Abbey Road Studios. Die englische Originalproduktion entstand unter der Regie von BAFTA-Preisträgerin Destiny Ekaragha, wurde in Dolby Atmos vertont von Granny Eats Wolf und die Hörspielfassung stammt vom für den Olivier Award nominierten Autor Joe White.
In weiteren Rollen: Falilou Seck, Alexander Prince Osei, Abak Safaei Rad, Janin Stenzel, Aline Abboud, und Sascha Rotermund.
