About this listen

100 fathoms below....

The depth at which sunlight no longer penetrates the ocean.

1983. The US nuclear submarine USS Roanoke embarks on a classified spy mission into Soviet waters. Their goal: to find evidence of a new, faster, and deadlier Soviet submarine that could tip the balance of the Cold War. But the Roanoke crew isn't alone. Something is on board with them. Something cunning and malevolent.

Trapped in enemy territory and hunted by Soviet submarines, tensions escalate and crew members turn on each other. When the lights go out and horror fills the corridors, it will take everything the crew has to survive the menace coming from outside and inside the submarine.

In the dark.

Combining Tom Clancy's eye for international intrigue with Stephen King's sense of the macabre, 100 Fathoms Below takes listeners into depths from which there is no escape.

A interesting story

This definitely was an interesting submarine story by itself. Add vampires to the mix and it becomes enthralling! What a fun ride this turned out to be.

Cool vampire story

An interesting take on vampires. I enjoyed the story & the narrator did a good job with character voices. I am glad I listened to it.

Better than expected

There were some pretty good intense scenes. There were a few problematic things, but, over all, I liked it.

Bad Voice actor

The story is good but the monotone voice of the narrative really hurts the overall enjoyment.

the hunt for 30 days of night

A surprisingly decent combination of a submarine movie and a spreading vampire infection. Some of the character actions are a little cliched, but that's genre fiction for you.

It's OK

Decent enough horror yarn. The setting in a submarine was a great choice with the dark and claustrophobic atmosphere. The narration did not impress me at all.

Interesting

The story was written in, and takes place in, the 80's, during the Cold War. It's interesting hearing the tale from that decade and perspective. It's a decent listen. I like when my "cheap horror fiction" teaches me things like how a submarine runs, what life is like for the men aboard, and new military terms.

It’s Tim Spicer and Jerry White!

From start to finish, this book was action packed and terrifying. The narration was spot on as well. I want a sequel!

Good Not Great

It is hard to put a finger on what exactly is missing, something is. This is a good story, with solid narration, but there always seemed like there was more that could be done to add more flavor to the storyline. It is enjoyable, just not outstanding.

What a great and creepy take on an old terror.

A very creative and one of a kind story. Love the characters and the terror felt by their unusual predicament!
