Story
On his 11th birthday, Jackson is nervous about moving up to middle school where he knows he'll be bullied by older kids, so he makes his wish, "I don't want to grow up!" When his 12th birthday rolls around, he discovers his wish came true: he's still 11, and he's starting fifth grade (again). At first, this is the perfect life. Jackson is the smartest kid in his class, the best on his baseball team, and the star of the school band. But after a few years of being eleven, he realizes his life is passing him by.

The story is slow and remedial but the performance is well done. I wouldn’t select this author again.

Story
Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting crossed with her male colleague, Kennedy Riley. The infuriating man forwards them along with his annoying commentary and unsolicited advice. At least she never has to see him in person, since they work in different locations…until they come face to face at the office holiday party.

Three giant steps back for strong women. AWFUL!!!
Reviewed: 12-13-19
This book is literally the WORST story I’ve listened to since purchasing Audible and I’ve heard some pretty awful stuff from robot read to whatever crap the original selection put out. What makes this book so gut wrenchingly bad is that the premise is taking smart strong women and “turning them to mush” (literal quote) in the presence of some sleezy narcissistic guy. No reprisal of their strength or show of intelligence (the author actually has the audacity to make a female colonel swoon for this loser) just the weakness of poor, unintelligent, witless women. PATHETIC. If you have ANY self respect or respect for women in general stay away and wait for the next batch of mediocre Originals to come out.

Story
Faced with the sale of the century-old family summer house on Cape Cod where he had spent 42 summers, George Howe Colt returned for one last stay with his wife and children. This poignant tribute to the 11-bedroom jumble of gables, bays, and dormers that watched over weddings, divorces, deaths, anniversaries, birthdays, breakdowns, and love affairs for five generations interweaves Colt's final visit with memories of a lifetime of summers.

I enjoyed the story although it gets a bit slow in the middle when discussing the history of the house,Boston, and construction theory. The story of the family is interesting and one can identify easily with the family dynamics.
At times the voice is very mechanical and robot sounding. The reader does use appropriate inflection when changing characters and one can get used to the voice overall.
