Story
Halloween is more than a holiday; more than a fun time of candy and costumes for the young. It is inoculated into our very being at an early age and there it remains. As we grow old, it grows dormant… but it is still there. For the lucky ones, such as us, it emerges every year, like a reanimated corpse digging its way out of graveyard earth to shamble across our souls. And we rejoice… oh, if we are the fortunate ones, we most certainly rejoice.

This is my 3rd Ronald Kelly title I have listened to narrated by the very talented J. Rodney Turner. Mr. Turner's voice reminds me of Matthew McConaughey or Sam Eliott.
Great Collection of Halloween & creepy stories.
If you have not done so already you have to go get The Halloween Store -By Ronald Kelly and Narrated by Mr. Turner
Love the Nostalgia of Halloween of the 60's and 70's, Although, I was not born until the latter half of the 70's. Many of the things he talks about reminds me of when Halloween was more of a simpler and safe time.

Story
Down below the Mason-Dixon Line, deep in the shadowy hills and hollows of Tennessee, lives a teller of terrifying tales and a spinner of dark yarns unlike any you have ever heard before. Stories to chill your bones and pepper your flesh with goose bumps. What his true name may be, no one knows for sure. But, if you listen closely, you can hear his voice ringing through the dead of night!

Story
When you first enter The Halloween Store, things seem normal. Fun and frightful decorations, ghastly costumes and masks of the season, and bags of candy galore. Then, as you travel farther into its shadowy depths, things begin to change. The air smells of damp autumn leaves and candle-scorched pumpkin. The shelves of All Hallows’ Eve fare grow darker and more disturbing. Strange and unsettling things of Halloweens past and present lurk amid the cobwebs and dust....

I do not write a ton of reviews anymore, but this book was so well done with a collection of 7 short stories, and some nostalgic remembrances when Halloween was a simpler and Safer time.
The Narrator J. Rodney Turner has a silky-smooth voice that reminds me of Sam Elliott or Matthew McConaughey. He does an amazing Job of telling the story and making it come alive in my head while I'm driving to work or afternoon walk's.
I have already purchased multiple additional Ronald Kelly books narrated by J. Rodney Turner
Mr. Glow Bones -just available 10/11/24
Haunt -Southern Fried Fear.
What a fantastic Duo, and i love the writing and the story teller.

Getting both a Latin American speaker & Spain Spanish speaker really helped so greatly . I have already bought the next book to keep going & learning. I May never be perfectly fluent, but I liked this a lot.

Story
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Story
The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.

R.C. Bray did another fantastic job telling the Joshua Gayou's story.
The characters are so well done, because of the narrator and Mr. Gayou's Character development. You have to love our favorite Marine Gibbs. He loves to curse and his descriptions especially when he get agitated are absolutely hilarious.
The story was well constructed and I killed the book in less than 2 week working 60+ hours a week right now.
I am concerned for our friends in the commune especially what was discovered at the end of the book.
I can not wait until I start book 3 tomorrow , and until book 4 comes out.
R.C. Bray is my absolute favorite narrator and has began to have a huge following of people like me who buy Audio books because he narrated them. I have approximately 50 RC Bray narrated titles and growing. If you are a RC Bray fan like me their is also a Facebook club called 50 Shades of Bray. Please check it out.

Story
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

What a great opening book to the book series. I really love how I really had a personal connection to each of the main characters and could feel their pain and fear in just trying to survive in this world after everything went to crap.
R.C. Bray did another masterful job narrating the story and making each character come to life. I really love his Hispanic woman's voice which was a large portion of the book.
Before book one was complete I was ordering book two. As I write this book 4 comes out in a month and I believe I will have killed book 2 and 3 by then.
Awesome opening book.
R.C. Bray is by far my favorite narrator and I have approximately 50 of his narrated titles. If you are not familiar with him look him up on Audible his has more than 300 narrated titles. You won't be sorry.

Man, Keith C Blackmore did not disappoint with the prequel for the Mountain Man book series. RC Bray who is my absolute favorite narrator made Gus Berry come alive again. The Book has some laughs, chills, and terror all wrapped in one neat package. I would listen to the store while going on my early morning walks and more than once would look over my shoulder thinking a zombie was coming out between a house to come eat me.
Well Done Keith C. Blackmore and RC Bray! Bravo...Wish we could keep the Gus Berry stories going, but only if RC Bray keeps narrating the stories.
