Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Bob Woodward tells the revelatory, behind-the-scenes story of three wars—Ukraine, the Middle East and the struggle for the American Presidency. Biased and underwhelming
Reviewed: 12-27-24
Woodward clearly has an anti-Trump agenda. Chapter after chapter of unnamed sources. Woodward chooses to ignore shortfalls and mishaps of the Biden administration. It's hard to believe any of Woodward's account of conversations with Biden after the Wall Street Journal bombshell story in the Biden cognitive decline according to staff within the admin. This is just a propaganda piece for Biden.

Story
In virtually every way that can be measured, Gen Z’s mental health is worse than that of previous generations. Youth suicide rates are climbing, antidepressant prescriptions for children are common, and the proliferation of mental health diagnoses has not helped the staggering number of kids who are lonely, lost, sad and fearful of growing up. What’s gone wrong with America’s youth? In Bad Therapy, bestselling investigative journalist Abigail Shrier argues that the problem isn’t the kids—it’s the mental health experts.

I recommend this book to all parents and educators! This book gives real insight on the myths of the psychology machine and over labelling of children and the harm it can cause. A wake up call for parents, teachers, and society.

Story
A recent poll showed 43 percent of Americans think more socialism would be a good thing. What do these people not know? In The Case Against Socialism, Rand Paul outlines the history of socialism, from Stalin’s gulags to the current famine in Venezuela. He tackles common misconceptions about the “utopia” of socialist Europe. As it turns out, Scandinavian countries love capitalism as much as Americans, and have, for decades, been cutting back on the things Bernie loves the most.

This book provides a historical analysis of the effects of socialist ideology on those this ideology intends to help. The author further provide a great analysis of those in government currently seeking to eliminate capitalism in favor of "welfarism." Well written and informative.

Story
Without John C. Houbolt, a mid-level engineer at NASA, Apollo 11 would never have made it to the moon. Top NASA engineers on the project, including Werner Von Braun, strongly advocated for a single, huge spacecraft to travel to the moon, land, and return to Earth. It's the scenario used in 1950s cartoons and horror movies about traveling to outer space. Houbolt had another idea: Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. LOR would link two spacecraft in orbit while the crafts were travelling at 3,600 miles an hour around the moon. His plan was ridiculed and considered unthinkable.
