Story
Emmy Harlow is a witch but not a very powerful one - in part because she hasn't been home to the magical town of Thistle Grove in years. Her self-imposed exile has a lot to do with a complicated family history and a desire to forge her own way in the world, and only the very tiniest bit to do with Gareth Blackmoore, heir to the most powerful magical family in town and casual breaker of hearts and destroyer of dreams.

Reviewed: 03-18-21
I really dislike a protagonist who makes stupider mistakes than I personally would. A book that makes me feel smart just for reading (or listen) to it is a blessing. This one just made me feel stupid for continuing the read.

Story
On his way to claim his late father's title, highland chief Connor Brunwood stumbles upon an English lass in a deserted clearing. She's dressed like a man, in shirt and breeches, her blond tresses hidden under a large hat and a foil in her hand, as she practices the art of sword-fighting. Awed by the sight of her spirited, blue eyes, and graceful, yet alluring movements, Connor calls her bluff, vowing that he will make her his wife. However, that is easier said than done.

Story
Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.
