It was okay. There was no new information. It’s perhaps because I’m up to date, read too much, ponder too much and therefore the patterns presented were all known patterns. This book is for people who can’t think deeply for themselves about what’s coming. Might be useful to get them started and get them thinking

The human system and our brains are notoriously complex and barely understood yet. This is another piece of that puzzle. Explores deeply the interrelations in the areas of feeling emotion, consciousness, and the mind

Leadership as a management process

Mintzberg has been a voice for pragmatic approaches to the art, craft and science of management and leadership. However making sense is not for the faint hearted and organizations continue to trundle along with anti human practices in something that is a human centred world. It’s for the fringes who want real change but then again those might not need this book as they’re organically people oriented

Management history with no closure on where to go from here

A thorough distinctly different history of management through different perspectives and lenses. But this alt history leaves it open ended on where to go from here. Leaving it unanswered leaves most management with the same old answers to go to. I enjoyed this history but had similar ideas built over hundreds of readings that I have individually done. So a good compendium of alternate perspectives for people who want it.

It was interesting set of episodes to give great context to EBM. I didn’t do The course but yet found it valuable to listen as I’m a self Learned practitioner.

I’m in organization design. And this books shows the shift of power from one extreme to the other. Neither hierarchy nor the collective is the answer. It’s a managed balance to create utility in context. Otherwise new hierarchies appear that just replace the old hierarchy for power, order and decision making

It was classical Lewis Black for the most part. Chapter 5 seemed very forced and a lot of effort to complete

An amazing performance seeing the world in 1890 thru the eyes of a woman trying to fight her way thru the disparities and biases of those years to make use of her inate intelligence. Very moving.
