Usually, I like authors reading their books. This author's over dramatization style is off putting, due to its insistence that you believe her opinions on the subject matter. I tried to continue listening, but after four hours, I'm writing this review and removing it from my library.

Jack Carr puts so much detail into his books. It's fascinating to learn about things I know little to nothing about. Cars, airplanes, guns, ammo, knives, wine, keeping people alive, to name a few. Ray Porter is the ultimate narrator to bring Jack's stories to life. It's as if you're watching a movie! Ray's ability to change his voice for the different characters is unmatched! Many touching moments in this book, especially the scene with James and Jonathan giving fatherly advice. Must admit I had to skip through one of the torture scenes. I haven't had to do that in the prior six books. Guess I was feeling extra sensitive that day. I so loved the ending! I had a feeling it might happen, but it was nice to know it did!

Really got so much out of Dr. Ehrman's "How Jesus Became God", so next I listened to "Jesus, Interrupted". Bart explains, in each of these books, why he became an agnostic. In God's Problem, he is able to use an entire book to talk about the reasons he came to this decision. There is so much painful, atrocious suffering in the world. How do religious clergy explain why God inflicts suffering on certain people and not others? This book is filled with answers to this question. Dr. Ehrman has help me in my quest to learn about Jesus, the historical facts of the Bible, and why people have to suffer. I highly recommend these three books and will continue to read more of his writings.

How hard life was for James. Always loved his music! So painful to hear what he and his siblings went through. But, it provides the background for what his songs are about. When I heard Sweet Baby James and Fire and Rain, I cried even harder than usual knowing the story. Please record the next 21 years!

Why would a soul choose to reincarnate in a baby that was premature with disabilities that may take years to correct, possibly even a life time of problems? I have an understanding now, through listening to the different cases, what needs to be worked on in different lives. I didn't mind the narration or when he said "long pause or surprised," etc. It help put the trance session into context.

Thank goodness there are people like detective Paul Holes. His relentless pursuit paid off. Well done! Enjoyed hearing the voices of the real people involved with this case.

For me, it was too much detail, especially about what the Russians were doing. I found myself drifting to other thoughts while listening. Normally I love to listen to a British accent. But, Simon Mattacks narration was distracting to what is an American story.

Couldn't get past 5 minutes. Wish I would have read the reviews first. As others have said, this performance does not lend itself to an audible book.
