Below the surface of what seems to be the same old live triangle, YA novel, there is some interesting concepts. She weaves current events with an imaginative outcome that may not be so far fetched.

The beginning really captured my attention. I like the unique ideas and the a connection can be made between their limitations and humans. I just felt like some of the middle drug on. It didn't have that big exciting build up. Good narrator.

Danes is great and that part a little interesting, just not my taste. I like when authors talk about their books so if you want to hear her take on it, you will like this version.

I started slowly with the digital book but finished with Audible to finish faster. There is so much to be sad about and most characters were so flawed, I had a hard time getting through it.
The story does make you think and stick with you. It has a strong message. I just prefer the drama gets worked out happily. But that's the message here. Life isn't like that.

The narrator does a great job. Even when their are twins involved, she gave them distinct voices so you knew what was happening.
The story is interesting in the same way Stephanie's other books are. Heroine that is unique. A twisty plot. My 1 complaint in her books is how quick the guys are head over heels. if you go with it, the story keeps your interest.

story really gets put together in this one. Lots of characters to keep track of with similar names plus a lack of any romance at all, gives this 4 stars from me.

I listened straight through the end without stopping because the story is gripping. I just don't like reading about depressing situations. there is no feel good ending.
I prefer my narrators have a few voices for characters but otherwise well read.

Liked the story. Characters were realistically flawed. I loved how you immediately loved the hero even though she was trying to make him sound flawed too. And I never bought in to her 1at choice so I wasn't devastated by that story line. The amount of sleeping around was tiresome but part of the twists.
Ready for next book but they really seem to jump around. guess I'll figure it out.

The fictional story lines were so complicated and imperfect to be completely believed. The historical part gave me so much insight to politics and the foundation of our country. Raised my compassion for others and proud/ thankful to be American.
