Good twists and turns and it is different enough from other books doing similar things. Good performance and solid to the end. Enjoyed it and I’m a nonfiction guy most of the time.

It’s our future if the Republicans take over

I’m a historian and o genuinely think we are witnessing the dying gasps of our American democratic experiment. As a moderate, it seems the right wants to take away the rights of women and harm the environment for the profit of billionaires? I get that some don’t like the far left. But from the middle, the far right is far more dangerous.

I’m a liberal and a teacher and I loved the book

I am a liberal/progressive who votes Democratic and as a historian, I genuinely think the Republican Party will take us toward fascism quite soon. I tend to not believe what the right says, as they generally and self-admittedly deny science. I have taught math, science, and history, at elementary and high school, and I know these kids are broken. They changed in the last 10 years, and as “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt demonstrates, it’s clearly and obviously the combination of phones and social media together.
But the solution to the problem is not more therapy. If you are a parent, you should know that your kid is likely getting this “off-the-books” (legally) “therapy” from people with very few qualifications. Sometimes, it’s college student interns. Sometimes it’s the random succession of people making $9 an hour to follow or talk to kids. But the professionals aren’t much better.
I’m decidedly pro-meds for attention because the world simply requires a level of task-commitment that you have to play by that’s game. But I think we should have a major nationwide pause on meds for depression and anxiety. It’s caused both by their phones and by the fact they doesn’t fail enough. They have to take chances, fail, learn from that, and try again. There is no shortcut. Gentle parenting will destroy Western Civilization if we aren’t careful.

I’d read his first four or five novels but I primarily read nonfiction. I’ve always thought Steve Berry was like a high brow, researched action movie, like if Jason Bourne or Tom Cruise or Jason Statham was a bookseller who remembered everything.

These books are FUN and if you’ve never got to experience the narrator Scott Brick, he is just excellent and makes every book that much better.

Lyn Alden and Guy Swann together is such a treat!

I've been listening to Lyn Alden for a couple years on podcasts and YouTube. I subscribed to her free newsletter last year. I follow her on Twitter. I say all of this because sometimes people just consolidate what they say elsewhere, but this book is so much more than her greatest hits. I strongly recommend you follow Lyn wherever she is. She has incredibly useful insights and can word them quite clearly. I've read all the books on finance and the history of money, and this is as god as any of them,
As for Guy Swann, he is a Bitcoin legend and is really great on Audible. He has a vey pleasing voice. He can be listened to very well at 1.5 speed also, if that's your thing.

Love the author and narrator. Got physical copies too. It’s the way he synthesizes and takes interesting perspectives on existing data. He has a knack for storytelling from data.

People often behave irrationally with money. People often behave out of line with their intelligence with money. DCA into index funds and literally profit.
