Story
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

Strong conclusion

I really liked the series. This final book was too sex focused and diminished the series. But by this book I was invested in the outcome and skipped through the ridiculously long sex content.

Story
In 1940, the German sons and daughters of infamous Nazi dignitaries Himmler, Göring, Hess, Frank, Bormann, Speer, and Mengele were children of privilege at four, five, or 10 years old, surrounded by affectionate, all-powerful parents. Although innocent and unaware of what was happening at the time, they eventually discovered the extent of their fathers' occupations: These men were leaders of the Third Reich and would later be convicted as monstrous war criminals.

We are all impacted by our upbringing. The stories here are well told, and the author writes in a factual vs judgemental writing style.

Language and Dialect Ruin It

The story had promise. Having the primary character sound like a back woods thug ruined my ability to focus on the story.

Great but too political

I love his books, but this last one had a lot of zingers. From Democrats to baptists the zingers hit hard. As Christians we definitely should call out bad behaviors and judgements, but casting out whole groups isn’t the Christian thing to do.

Story
For half a century, a terrible secret lay hidden, locked in a trunk in an attic... photos, official documents, and scraps of a diary written by a young girl. "The time has come when I must share my life story... some facts from the past that could make a contribution, however small it may be, to the history of mankind." The Secret Holocaust Diaries is a haunting eyewitness account of Nonna Lisowskaja Bannister, a remarkable Russian-American woman who saw and survived unspeakable evils as a young girl.

Disappointed
Reviewed: 09-24-20
The constant interruption of the narrator to give background or explanation ruined the story for me. I much rather would have heard a seamless documentation of what the writer was sharing with us. The interruptions were so disturbing they almost became like commercial breaks. Ultimately I did not finish the story because I could never get past the third person interruptions.
