Incredible series. Just buy it already
Reviewed: 10-13-20
For me this is up there with GoT, LotR, Hitchhikers. It’s not like any of those but it does its genre so well it elevates it. The performance is invisible by which I mean it’s excellent. Amos is one of the most fascinating characters in fiction. His character arc as a philosophical, moral, sociopath is psychological gold unlike anything I’ve read before and he’s only one member of the crew. The Asian Martian pilot with the Texas drawl. The ex-earther Captain with 8 biological parents. The genius engineer with secrets. They are all good and they have chemistry. Can’t recommend this entire series enough. Ive read the books and listen to the audio repeatedly.

Story
Jane Carver is nobody's idea of a space princess. A hard-ridin', hard-lovin' biker chick and ex-Airborne Ranger, Jane is as surprised as anyone else when, on the run from the law, she ducks into the wrong cave at the wrong time - and wakes up butt-naked on an exotic alien planet light-years away from everything she's ever known. Waar is a savage world of four-armed tiger men, sky pirates, slaves, gladiators, and purple-skinned warriors in thrall to a bloodthirsty code of honor and chivalry.

Sound effects
Reviewed: 01-04-17
The story is a reimagining of John Carter of Mars with a tough streetwise biker chick. The narrator is perfect for the role. This audio book contained sound effects that were mostly subtle and dud not detract from the story telling. I'm not sure about how well this works. For this type of book it fit fairly well. I would be interested in trying it with a different genre to see if it would be something I would want more of. I was given this book at no cost for review purposes. My review is my honest opinion and was not influenced by the publisher or author.

Story
Tim and his friends find out the hard way that you shouldn't question the game master, and you shouldn't make fun of his cape. One minute, they're drinking away the dreariness of their lives, escaping into a fantasy game and laughing their asses off. The next minute, they're in a horse-drawn cart surrounded by soldiers pointing crossbows at them.

Hilarious and perfectly performed
Reviewed: 12-17-15
Absolutely my favorite performance by a reader. If I had just read this book myself there is no way I would have imagined these characters as entertaining as Jonathan Sleep has. The book itself is sophomoric humor and at first I wasn't sure I was going to like it but once I let myself just enjoy it I found it literally laugh out loud hilarious. I've since done all of the books in the series and can't wait for more.

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr. Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up.

Best Zombie contagion and transmission hypothesis ever. It's scientific and based on true conditions and possibly with mutation or evolutional changes could actually happen. The author deserves a Zombie Oscar or something for how the Zombies work. That alone will keep you awake at night.
