Story
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

I really enojoyed this quick listen and after the authors comments at the end, I am now in search of more from the author.
As a history buff and proud Patriot, I am very interested to hear/read more stories come to light, even with a fictional twist. It induces further research into the non-fictional inspiration.

This explosive new audiobook challenges many of the long-held assumptions about blacks, about Jews, about Germans and Nazis, about slavery, and about education. Plainly written, powerfully reasoned, and backed with a startling array of documented facts, Black Rednecks and White Liberals takes on the trendy intellectuals of our times as well as historic interpreters of American life.

Story
The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway's most enduring works. Told in language of great simplicity and power, it is the story of an old Cuban fisherman, down on his luck, and his supreme ordeal, a relentless, agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream. Here Hemingway recasts, in strikingly contemporary style, the classic theme of courage in the face of defeat, of personal triumph won from loss.

Story
Doug Stanhope has been drunkenly stumbling down the back roads and dark alleys of stand-up comedy for over a quarter of a century, roads laden with dank bars, prostitutes, cheap drugs, farm animals, evil dwarfs, public nudity, menacing third-world police, psychotic breaks, sex offenders, and some understandable suicides. You know, just for levity. While other comedians were seeking fame, Stanhope was seeking immediate gratification, dark spectacle, or sometimes just his pants.

Story
Discrimination and Disparities challenges believers in such one-factor explanations of economic outcome differences as discrimination, exploitation, or genetics. It is listenable enough for people with no prior knowledge of economics. Yet the empirical evidence with which it backs up its analysis spans the globe and challenges beliefs across the ideological spectrum.

Fabulous Book!

Would you listen to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo again? Why?
Absolutely! It has everything a good story should have: Action, Suspense, Lust, a Twist and most importantly, some really intense characters. A story that will keep you guessing LITERALLY until the last chapter, The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo is a page turner that is not for the feint of heart. With scenes of love and hate, tears and jubilation this book is a reflection of what ACTUALLY happens in the world today, It's a knock out book with a powerful meaning. I can't wait to read it's counterparts!
What other book might you compare The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to and why?
The Bourne Identity Etc. Comparable by way of strong characters, and a seemingly impossible puzzle to figure out. It's labyrinth of plot twists that will continue to keep up interest and always leave you hungry for more.
What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?
I most enjoyed his ease in the character's dialogue, and how well he pronounced each characters' specific voice. This book has many characters, and especially when listening to a book, it makes it much easier to differentiate.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
While I did not laugh or cry, as laughter was not the nature of the book, I was taken aback in many moments throughout. I listen to the books while at work, and at one point, I remember sliding back from my desk and putting my hands over my mouth because I couldn't believe what was happening. I also remember gasping outloud at some points due to the heavy nature of information uncovered! Intensely rich in profound statements and scenes, this book, i MUST say, was definitely a distraction!
Any additional comments?
Great. Book. Period. MUST READ!
