I liked the story. It was compelling and paced very well. The narration and accents almost ruined it for me.

Story
After corporate attorney Hannah Barrett tries - and fails - to stop a kidnapping in Vegas, she can’t shake the haunting image of the terrified young girl she couldn’t save. She tells herself that a visit to her hometown in Scarlet Falls could be a welcome distraction. But soon, Hannah realizes the kidnappers have all the info they need to track her every move. And when chilling e-mails about the victim appear in her inbox, it’s frighteningly clear what happened in Vegas has followed her home.

The story was good, fast paced and kept me interested. However, the Narrator does not do good make voices, they sound like Elmer Fudd, which of course, takes away from the story.

Get a better Narrator

The story was good, I enjoyed the characters, but the narrator almost made me quit. If the narrator has trouble with male voices, get someone else. They sounded comical, when nothing was funny.

Story
One weekend, while Andrew Mason was on a fishing trip, his wife, Brie, vanished without a trace. Most everyone assumed Andy had got away with murder—it’s always the husband, isn’t it?—but the police could never build a strong case against him. For a while, Andy hit rock bottom—he drank too much to numb the pain, was abandoned by all his friends save one, nearly lost his business, and became a pariah in the place he once called home.

Good, easy story to rest. Thought I knew the killer, then changed my mind. Kept me guessing to the end.

Story
Deputy District Attorney Samantha Kincaid walks into her office in Portland's Drug and Vice Division one morning to find the sergeant of the police bureau's vice unit waiting for her. A 13-year-old girl has been brutally attacked and left for dead on the city's outskirts. Given the lack of evidence, most lawyers would settle for an assault charge; Samantha, unnerved by the viciousness of the crime, decides to go for attempted murder.

The story was great and had some good surprises. It was very difficult to reconcile the youth of Samantha Kincade with how old the narrator sounded.
