Interesting story different than the others

I enjoyed the short story about Longmire and the Cherokee Nation in younger days. It held my interest and was able to finish in the day.

Gossip and presumption
Revisado: 01-25-25
After so many years of not listening to Agatha Christie, I forgot how much novels have progressed in a more realistic and newsworthy way.
I was very disappointed and bored because the storyline is a lot of gossip, talking behind people’s backs, presuming what happened and not a lot of modern day sleuthing. Are used to love these and 80s but in 2025 is very dated and I’m gonna have to put it down for something more exciting and entertaining.

A masterful, moving novel about age, memory, and family from one of the literary icons of our time. Ptolemy Grey is 91 years old and has been all but forgotten - by his family, his friends, even himself - as he sinks into a lonely dementia. His grand-nephew, Ptolemy's only connection to the outside world, was recently killed in a drive-by shooting, and Ptolemy is too suspicious of anyone else to allow them into his life. Until he meets Robyn, his niece's 17-year-old lodger and the only one willing to take care of an old man at his grandnephew's funeral.

I was surprised this is a very good story. I loved all the characters in this book and the individual story lines that intertwined and came together at the end. The narrator did it justice, she was very good.

A nice story, but the narrator ruined it for me.
Revisado: 11-14-24
It was a good mild mystery. I have two complaints that would prevent me from buying another book in the series.
1) The narrator was really annoying. I don't know how to describe it other than to say she sounded over casual. It's difficult to describe, but if you listen to the book, you will probably be able to know what I mean.
2) In this book, the main character starts finding key clues and solving the mystery, but keeps these to herself, does not share them even with the reader. Then in the climax, she sputters out all of the details which her partner, and the bad guy, and the reader. I found this very annoying.

Not for everyone
Revisado: 10-08-24
I read all these books about 30 years ago and just loved the story about Merlyn and continue reading about King Arthur. Something about Camelot just draw me in. I let my daughter and my sister borrow the heart back of this first book thinking they would love them as much as I did, but neither one liked them at all. I don't quite understand but I guess it's a taste thing.
If you'd like things about Camelot, you probably will love this book because it's a backstory about how Merlyn became Merlyn .

Historia
There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”. When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

I would have loved this book it the author didn't feel it necessary to add the explicit sex to the story. It did not add anything and it detracted from the book.
